Is what our freshly, handpainted yarn has now been named. (edited to add a better picture of both yarns) Click the pretty yarn to see a few of the pictures we took. Not too bad for our first attempt is it?
What a fun but stressful experience. We’ve been trying to get this done since I posted about it last week and we’re both just so busy it’s hard to find a big chunk of time to do it. This morning consisted of Carole taking both our of girls while I worked out and then I came home so she could run and then I watched the girls. By the time we both had worked out we didn’t have a lot of time before the girls had to be at gymnastics but our Type A personalitites couldn’t stop us from going for it. (Hence, the two of us looking fabulous in our workout gear) We ended up not having enough time and she had to leave with the girls while I finished up with the huge mess we had made. See, it’s the mess I do not like at all. How do you keep it from getting so messy? I can’t even imagine doing this inside. We already got it all over my patio.

We learned a lot from our experience and will do some things differently the next time. Foam brushes will be used next time for sure. All in all we are really excited with how the colors turned out. I need to try and get a better picture of it. C’ skein is drying right now and she mixed her colors in a little bit different colorway. I think I’m also going to make a warping board for when we try and do sock yarn. This yarn will probably go to making felty bags.

It’s 4:00pm and I now need to take a shower and get ready for Stitch ‘n’ Bitch. I’ll tell you. I need a beer after today. But hooray! We dyed pretty yarn!
