Balloons

Most of you probably don’t know that the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Park is directly to the West of our house and we can watch balloons take off from our backyard. It’s the perfect background this morning for Odessa. Ignore the fact that she’s blurry. (Click the pictures to see better.)

Not too shabby? Today there were just a few. During Balloon Fiesta it looks like this. I think it’s one of my most favorite pictures I’ve taken since we’ve lived here.
I’m really enjoying Odessa so far. I had a bit of trouble at the start which I will blame on my cold. For some reason my brain would not get the k3 p2 down on that first row. I think the Olympic Godesses were angry with me for casting on before actually watching the Opening Ceremonies. Once I was actually watching the show I had no more problems. I got through the first row of beads before dragging myself to bed. Not sure I’ll get much done today as my day is completely packed.  I’ll be at the shop today from 11-4. Anyone coming to visit?

You know we might come by the shop today. I could use some retail therapy. Maybe I can talk Cody into it. Those balloon fiesta photos are gorgeous.

OMG! That is an amazing sight. You are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful
location. I am going to try an Odessa Hat after I finish my two pairs of socks for
the Knitting Olympics! Any suggestions on bead size or material are greatly apprec-
    iated.

I like your Odessa - wish I could have gotten the same color yarn. Instead, I’ve got the purplish color and strung on my 150 beads (silvery) and am ready to cast on - eventually.
