Progress

I feel a bit better after getting a pretty big chunk of knitting time in today. I know. Go ahead and make some sort of comment about how the Kintting Olympics were supposed to be a challenge. But this has been kind of a challenge to me. I’ve never done a pattern like this and I’ve never knit with beads. Doesn’t that make it a challenge? Just to make you all feel better I will try to also knit that cable test bag and possibly a pair of socks. Will that be more fair? A hat, bag and socks in 16 days? That’s my new challenge okay? *shakes all of your hands* Done.

Now let me talk about Odessa for a minute. Grumperina? Is this really going to fit on my head? I’m starting to get a bit worried as it fits perfectly on my 7 year old’s head. I know it can stretch but dang. Supergirl might have herself a new hat. Click to see a much bigger picture to see the color of the beads in better detail.

Half Odessa

I wonder if I can finish this tonight? I have about 5 hours until I should get ready for bed. Stay tuned. I know you’ll all be glued to your computer screens to see what I accomplish. And I’m off.

***Edited to show you what is wearing the hat since people are asking. It’s Simba! ***

You’re making some progress! I think I like the solid color for the Odessa better than the self striping yarn I used, because the pattern is a lot more visible. And when I did mine, it did seem a bit small, it certainly didn’t fit me at least. But I just finished a new beanie that I think is pretty cool, look for pictures on my blog soon!

The link to Simba leads to an article about Dick Cheney shooting someone with a shotgun. Um…

    Confusedly and amusedly,

Wow. That is really fantastic! The more I see it, the more I think my sister would love it too. And we are supposed to go celebrate her birthday next weekend… surely I have time to stuff a hat in the middle of my Olympic trials, right?! *snort*

It looks great, I love the colors! Mine didn’t fit me, it fit my Mom, but she won’t wear hats. It’s such a pretty hat, I am going to try to upsize it for big-haired, big-headed people!

Maybe you can just block the hell out of it? It looks beautiful in any case I might have to give this a try someday.

Well, I think that sounds like a MUCH better challenge! One stinkin’ hat in 16 days? Pffft. It’s looking really awesome - can’t wait till it arrives in my mailbox. :D

hi, your hat looks so pretty, I had 5 more rows to go on mine but I had to rip it back
to before the decrease rows as I dropped a stitch or something. I think I’m going to
make another one in blue with the ruffles scarf for my sister during the Olympics. Can you let me hnow where you got the pattern for Ruffles Thanks
