Sock Lust

I fell in love with these socks from Lucy Neatby’s Cool Socks Warm Feet after a co-worker just finished making them and had them on today. See, the dangers of working in a yarn shop goes like this, “Ohhhhh! I love those socks! What’s the pattern? Oh in that book? You love that book? I should get it? OKay. Tack it on my receipt.” But these socks really are cool aren’t they? The ones on the left are the ones my co-worker made called Mermaid.  The other ones I love are called Chequerboard.  Have any of you made these?

So now I have about a million different ideas for what to knit next. I am really leaning towards the Mermaid socks with this Opal Dreamcatcher I bought the other day. I think it would look really cool in this pattern.

I’m off to finish my hat. I just have the decreases left!

I made the Mermaid ones twice. They’re pretty fun to knit, but I don’t recommend doing two pairs right after one another.

I’ve seen the Mermaids knit up in a Meilenweit striping yarn and they were very cool. Your Opal will probably look great!

Now these are the socks I would want if you were my sock pal. Preferably one pair of each. (Embrace your inner greed, I always say.)
