We’ll call it - Help Scout Pick Her Sockapaloooza Yarn! I have six from which to choose. My Pal said I don’t like crazy colors, but am partial to blues, purples, greens. No acid colors. Handpainted is great, stripes are cool, patterns are awesome. (I’m taking a chance here with posting this but she doesn’t have a blog and I don’t think she has any idea who I am.) Here is what I have.
- Socks That Rock - Rainforest Jasper (not available tot he public for 3 months!)
- A Piece Of Vermont - Purple Haze
- A Piece of Vermont - Unnamed becasue I snatched it so quickly!
- Cherry Tree Hill - I can’t remember the name!
- Opal Dreamcatcher - 1232
- Lisa Souza - Garnet
If you remember I’m pretty sure I’m going with the IK Web Sock. My Pal doesn’t have a blog so I have nothing more than these three sentences. I’m having the hardest time deciding which yarn to use. Please help? If you know of something else that would work even better feel free to leave me a link too. *** ETA - I could also scrap the Web Sock Pattern and do a simple stockinette with the Pretty Pretty Purple? That might match her color taste better? Tell me what you think***

I vote purple haze…. makes me drool!!!
Since you have choosen a patterned sock I would go with a solid or mostly solid yarn. I am afraid the pattern would get lost in a heavily patterned yarn.
I think the Cherry Tree Hill might be Wild Cherry from that picture. Maybe?
I’d personally go with either the Garnet or the Purple Haze for the pattern you chose - a solid or something close (it looks like the purple haze isn’t wildly variegated) would work best with that pattern.
Hmm, I voted Pretty Pretty Purple, but then read Ginger’s comment. I would change to Purple Haze, because she makes a great point.
I like #3 as she said she likes blues and purples. But you might want a different pattern for that one.
i think the pretty pretty purple (with the blue and purple colors) will be absolutely gorgeous in any pattern you choose. I love variegated yarns for socks, b/c it keeps me interested long enough to finish.

well when i voted, it looked like there was a definate winner so far (and it was the one i voted for too!). good luck, they are all beautiful! (p.s. my second choice would be the purple haze)
I personally love all of those colorways. I voted for the first, more subdued purple because I think it will show off the stitch pattern best. Well, the garnet might do it a better in person, but that is probably an iffy color for your pal given what information she gave.

Hmmm.. I love all of them, but since you’re going with a patterned sock, I think Purple Haze might work well since it’s mostly solid with subtle variegation. Plus, I just saw someone else knitting up Purple Haze and it’s GORGEOUS!! Take care!
I voted for the garnet because I think it would look lovely with the pattern. You can’t go wrong though. All of the choices are lovely.

Use the Pretty Pretty Purple and a simple pattern.
Also, keep that STR for your own socks: it is the very first from the STR club!
