Damn!

Did you see the news?

winner

I guess it’s my own fault for putting it into the mix of choices. It’s okay. Jessie will just have to make me some more. I think they will be great Sockapaloooza socks even though I wanted the Pretty Pretty Purple all to myself.

I am going to do a different pattern than the Web Socks if I’m using this yarn. This yarn is self striping so I want something that works really well with stripes. Do I dare make another pair of Jaywalkers? What are some other favorite sock patterns for self-striping yarn? Help a sister out!

My feeds appear to be all wonky in Bloglines again so who knows who will even see this. Thanks to Little Purl of the Orient for showing me this fun Flickr Toy!

Pretty Pretty Purple Jaywalkers! And then give them to me. And then make the #2 yarn in Web Socks for your Sockpal. What!

Love that “billboard” - too fun! Um, Wendy at Wendy Knits has been doing a simple feather and fan pattern for her STR. Sensational Knitted Socks has some great ideas for the various types of color patterning.

How about a feather and fan pattern ala Wendy at Wendy Knits (www.wendyknits.net)? While I was looking at her post today it occured to me that it might look interesting in a self-striping yarn.

I’d have to say that the Feather and Fan pattern is almost always a good one for stripies. The Broadripple is good as is Sock Bug’s Lacy Scallops and seeing as how it is spring I think a lacey sort of sock would be totally appropriate!

I haven’t knit these yet, but Peak Experience from Fiber Trends is for striping yarn.

I love broadripple. I’ve done it three times since the beginning of February. I also liked doing the jaywalkers, but I think broadripple shows off stripes very well and is well, a tad feminine and springlike.

Ooo. I am all over those flickr toys. How cool. Oh and I love Jaywalkers too. Also, what about the falling leaves pattern on knitty. My sis made a pair of stripy socks that looked awesome with that pattern.

While I’m not the biggest fan of the Jaywalker, it does look pretty kewl with the self-stripe

and quit whining - if you didn’t want to give away the yarn, you shouldn’t have put in in the poll ;op~

Great image! I’m all about jaywalkers these days, but just don’t hurt yourself pulling it on if they’re a bit snug. :)

Maybe Lilly Chin’s Mermaid socks? At least I think it was Lilly Chin. And I can’t remember which sock book they are in AND I’m too lazy to go scrounge around for it. So really I’m no help at all am I? :)

What about the mermaid socks? I forget who wrote the book, but I remember you posting about them fairly recently. I did a couple pairs with self-striping yarns and they turned out great. I suppose it depends on how thick the stripes are, though — thin stripes wouldn’t work with that pattern.
