Welt Fantastic

Is what I decided to do for my Sock Pal. Eyow is such a smarty and she reminded me to look in Sensational Knitted Socks for a stripey pattern and I immediately fell in love with Welt Fantastic. Here is what I have so far. And again….these colors are not right on. I need a better picture in the sun.

welt fantastic

Which will eventually look like this.

This beauty is Whoopsy Daisy’s. I found it when I Googled *welt fantastic* and she was nice enough to let me show everyone hers and helped me with the pattern a bit. Isn’t it pretty? I can’t wait to see the pattern unfold with mine.

The other fun part of my day was getting the mail. This is what I found.

love

A box of chocolates, Pretty Pretty Blue Opal & some jelly beans. Can anyone read the label? Do you know who sent it? Yes. Margene herself was so sweet to think of me and send me some Birthday love. (It’s not until tomorrow) Thank you so much M. It really brightened up my day to get that. Now that I got a picture I can open the chocolates. YUM! I had better not let my girl Carole see this or she’s going to want to steal them. Speaking of Carole……she is kidnapping me in about an hour and taking me somehwere seekrit for birthday cocktails. I’m not allowed to know anything about what we’re doing and you know what? I hate, hate, hate surprises. We have Stitch ‘n’ Bitch tonight too and I can’t wait. Although I’m thinking after a few cocktails I will be knitting impaired. Maybe I should bring ruffles so I don’t trash my welt fantastic.

    1) That yarn is knitting up beautifully.
    2) I’m sure Margene would EXPECT you to share a chocolate with me.
    and
    3) GET OVER IT!!! I promised no naked men jumping out of cakes, so relax.

Oh, Welt Fantastic is a lovely pattern! And what a fun gift from Margene!

Heh, I would take something very boring to knit tonight… just in case of impairment. Like, a dishcloth. ;)

Wow - I like that welt patern but that heel is really strange - I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve got to go and consult the book now to see what is up with that heel. Oh - & HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

It’ll look great in that colorway, Scout. Oh, the heel. I used the “heel for ribbed lace” sock on p. 52 only because I wasn’t crazy about the “afterthought or forethought” heel. Too much thought for me~!

Okay I’m back and I’m breaking tradition - I’m going to wish you a happy birthday ON THE RIGHT DAY. (I’m always a day late).

I have to do it now, too and can’t wait ’til you post a ‘Happy Birthday’ post…you see, my boss is a jackass and isn’t letting me bring my laptop to work anymore. Because he is a control freak.

    So, Happy Birthday!

What a beautiful pattern. I’ve thought I been through every page of that book, apparently not,
I’ll have to look for it.

Have a wonderful birthday and may you be blessed with many more balls of yarn.
