What Knitting?

No knitting in this post. None. Nada. I’ll post a picture of my Welt Fantastics later during Supergirl’s naptime because I’m totally in love with Jessie’s yarn and the pattern and am going to have a really hard time sending these to my Sock Pal.

I have a favor to ask of each of you. I’m used to listening to 12 songs on my previous Mp3 player. I have no clue how to fill up 240 songs on my new Nano. I put all the ones I had and it was only 43 songs. I run 3-4 days a week and that’s when I listen to my music. I like upbeat songs that will keep my butt running up hills and burning off the peanut butter pretzles I’ve consumed from Trader Joes. No slow songs. So tell me. What is your favorite upbeat, shake-your-ass kinda song? To give you an idea of what’s on there right now? Lots of Gwen Stefani and Black Eyed Peas. Hey now! Don’t laugh! It’s great running music. If you want to really be a love, you can just send it to me. That works right? Yeah, I need to catch up here. It’s 2006 baybee and I’m getting there.

Help a sister out. I need 200 songs. I’m counting on you. If each one of you sent me one/two songs I think I’d be all set. I’m off to run and test this bad boy out. I can’t wait.

I hear you on the peppy workout mix! I have to have my mp3 player when I am at the gym (everyday!) My old standbys are Franz Ferdinand (both albums are good) and The Killers. My hubby laughs and says that they are music that girls like to dance too. He’s right - they keep my feet moving!

My favorite song to work out to lately is Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones. You wouldn’t think it would be a shaker, but it really has a great pace. I think Fatboy Slim generally is great to work out to, and Outkast, and I personally dearly love The Streets - check out Fit But You Know It…I’ll try to think of others.

I concur on Fatboy Slim. I would also throw out some Groove Armada (I See You Baby, If Everybody Looked The Same)

Any of the remixes of old Whitney (It’s Not Right, But It’s Ok), Music by Madonna

And sadly enough, MmmmBop always makes me shake my butt. Yes, I know, my whiteness know no bounds.

Feeling Alright by either Joe Cocker, or the cover on the duets album keeps me moving.
Sometimes when I’m running with the dogs in the woods, I get caught dancing instead.
It’s a little embarrassing, but, hey, I just pretend I’m Baby. And we all know that nobody
    puts Baby in a corner!

I started typing some of my favs, but the list started to get really long! (I seriously dont’ know how I ever worked out before my iPod) I just went to iTunes and noticed I can export my playlist as a text file. If you want me to email it to you, I’d be more than happy to share.

Not very dancey but if I want to get myself whipped up into a mood then it’s got to be Rage Against the Machine.

Ok don’t laugh at ME now, but I LOVE listening to Kyie Minogue’s Fever album while working out. It’s got a constant beat even from song to song, so it’s easy to get into rhythm.

My Nano (which I have named eyePawed) has a lot of Bonnie Raitt on it right now. Oh, and I like Jimmy Buffett’s live stuff for upbeat excercising type stuff.

I like running to songs that make me move, they’re not always my fav artists, but they sure keep me moving. “Walk This Way” Aerosmith, “American Idiot” Greenday, “I’m Still Standing” Elton John, nearly all of “THE Blackeyed Peas” and evwn some of Keith Urbans songs. I know I go from one extreme to the other, but at my age I need something that makes me want to move.

“Float On” by Modest Mouse is a great song to kick off a run to, and if I’m dragging my feet halfway through I do dig Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al.”

My Humps - BEP (again, not PC but it makes me giggle)
ugh my brain has gone blank(-er than usual) and now I can’t remember any more songs…
I can check the memory on my XM Radio and send you more if you’d like ;o)

    That sort of thing.

    Ain’t Going Down (Garth Brooks)
Total Eclipse of the Heart (Bonnie Tyler)
    Survivor (Gloria Gaynor)
    Eye of the Tiger (Survivor)
    Physical (Olivia Newton John)
That’s the Way I Like It (K.C. & the Sunshine Band)
Turn the Beat Around (Gloria Estafan)

I know that’s more than 2, but I had to represent, you know?
    Redneck Woman (Gretchen Wilson)
    Hell Yeah (Montgomery Gentry)

anything by ‘The Gossip.’ The best thing is that all their songs are super-short, which is great for intervals.

Oh, one more song suggestion you might like since you like BAP and No Doubt. Try Saturday Night by Ozomatli. They are kinda hip-hoppy with a Latin edge.

Let me throw my hat into the ring here… i second motions for New Order, Eminem, Aerosmith.

Let me add Metallica and Nine Inch Nails. I also like some Audioslave.

Behind the Wheel/Route 66 by Depeche Mode gets me going too… Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out of My Head and Love at First Sight have a nice beat to them as well.

I’m a huge disco whore. That’s what makes me happy. Right now, I’m favouring “That’s All” by Genesis, “FNT” by Semisonic, and “El Tiburon” by El General or Proyecto Uno (same song). It’s a good time at a party. Or running!

    I should get a workout mix. I’m lazy. >.
