Flashing Some Love

I didn’t sign up for Flash Your Stash because honestly, I’m too damn lazy to organize it all for pictures. Plus, you’ve seen most of my new stuff anyway. But you haven’t seen this!

koigu

Oooooh. Ahhhhhhh. KOIGU! The best thing about working in a yarn shop has to be opening up two boxes of something like Koigu and being the first one to pick what you want before anyone else even sees it. One of the owners gave me two skeins for my birthday and after we checked it all in yesterday she told me, “Okay, you can go shopping now! I hid that color you liked at the bottom.” What could possibly be better than having first dibs on 300+ skeins of Koigu? I’m thinking there’s not much. (And for anyone local? Don’t go looking for it yet or even ask for it or I’ll get my head chopped off. It’s not out. We need to find space in which to put it. I’ll let you know when it’s ready.) I think this Koigu is amazing. It was so hard to get a picture to justify the true beauty of the colorway. I can’t wait to make some socks with it.

The girls at the shop showered me with Birthday love when I got there yesterday. Look.

love

The chocolate bar is so funny. Here’s a close-up.

There’s also a Gift Certificate in there too. I don’t know if a girl could be any more showered with love on her birthday. Thank you again to each and every one of you.

Time to get motivated. T. is on his way to a bike race and I’m taking the kids to meet some friends for breakfast and a hike. Have a great weekend!

WOW. That is a gorgeous Koigu colorway - and one that I’ve never seen. The employees must always buy that one before it gets put out!

Hee hee - fabulous chocolate bar!

Ya spread the love, Scout, it comes back you you tenfold. *hug*

Omg you got Koigu! Man, you SUCK! Ok not really but..no FAIR. No fair no fair no fair! :ppppp You will have the K out on display in, say, 2 weeks, yes? Just in time for my yarn diet to be over? hmm? I used to joke with Cody about this “kult of koigu” and now I’m a member.

Darn - I was hoping for some stash-flashing, but that Koigu was a good substitute. If I had to choose from 300 skeins I’d probably pass out :) Happy birthday!

That’s so sweet! And working in a yarn shop that carries Koigu! *jealous* There’s only one store around here that has it, and I barely ever go there.

Hi, I love your clock! I went to the website, but it’s in Japanese!
Any advice on how to get it? I notice that it is copywrited.
    Thanks!

I love your yarn-in-a-tree photos–I feel like I’m watching the Discovery Channel. Stalking the yarn in its natural habitat! If that guy at exploding dog does your drawing, you’ll have to let us know which one it is!
