Organized Stash - Check!

I did it. I’m so happy I want to go buy more yarn! I mean, I have more room for it now. See? I think each shelf needs to be completely full. Oh wait. I have a huge Rubbermaid container out in the garage too. That can just stay there right? The most fun was organizing the yarn into the shelves. Hi! OCD much?  And be honest. T. has never, ever seen all of my yarn out. We’ve been together for 15+ years.  Will this look like a lot to someone who has only ever seen a few skeins at a time out of a bag?  Crap. He knows about the Rubbermaid container too. It was all given to me right? Thaaaaaat’s the ticket.

Now I can go make my warping board. Click the picture to see the side of me you don’t want to ever mess with. Scout can be totally bad-ass if you didn’t know that already. Did I tell you how I threatened some men at SnB one night because I thought they were laughing at us? I showed them my biceps and told them I don’t work out for nothing and I could take them on if they were making fun of us. They immediately told us their wives were knitters and they were artists themselves and no way were they making fun of us. Good thing for them man. Do not mess with knitters!! I’m just kidding. I’m a totally sweet, laid back, non-confrontational grrl. I am! Really! Stop laughing!

Now, I don’t know how much is in that tote (and really, if it’s out of sight it totally doesn’t count, right?), but damn girl - go buy more yarn! Fill those cabinets up!

Nice closet. But, what are you hiding under that large beige blanket that you have bags and scarves trying to conceal it? Hmmm?????

In my humble opinion, you’ve got lots of room for more yarn.

ooohhhhhhh, power tools and a hammer! I’m running for my life………..

Actually, I am most impressed with your OCD. And, your stash.

That’s it?? That’s your whole stash? Maybe if you work in a yarn store every day you don’t feel quite as irresistible an urge to take it all home with you. Mine occupies an entire armoire, a changing table (my kids haven’t been babies in a long time, not that I could find the changing table under all that yarn should I actually need to change a baby), and two floor-to-ceiling stacks of boxes. I am impressed by your organization, though.

Gosh, now I’m scared… Look at what a hammer bad ass you are in those pictures! ;) I have two of those same Organize It shelves in white to hold my videos and DVDs!

And I don’t think that stash looks very alarming. Worst case scenario, you do a Knit and Tonic sort of stash flash for T and I bet he won’t mind the yarn at all…

I like the hammer but…you have a tweety. It’s hard to be scared of someone who has a tweety in their hair.

That’s nothing. My stash takes up a room. Mainly because I have no shelving in there. And its getting ready to start on another. Never mind the yarn all over my living room…..got any more for me?

I like to organize sometimes too. It fosters the false sense of
control over the world I sometimes like to have!

Great yarn organization, too. I was thinking of loving some things
around for better access. This gives me an idea!

I love organizing, free yarn (er, gift yarn), power tools, and color. I love what you post. So fun!

Uh, yeah…if T ever gives you trouble about your stash? Just let me know and I’ll send you a photo of mine. I’ll send you several photos, that is. It won’t all fit in one shot, I’m sure. Let’s just say when I was younger, single, and making money I had little to no self control in the yarn department.

Also, you are a little scary with the power tools, girly. Careful with that drill.

ack! I have been eyeing those Organize It things from Target since before Christmas! I think you’ve now just persuaded me to get them!

I might get the shelves, though, but the cabinets look great too! decisions. either way, it’ll be a couple weeks from now when the paycheck fairy visits me…haha.

your stash looks great! (but I agree…there’s definitely room for more!) you gotta have that thing bursting!

oh and on your latest yarn colorways and your warping board…congrats!! :) I love all those colors!

    *puzzled frown*

    That’s a big stash!?

Someone needs more yarn. Need. Not optional. Life-or-death important, even.

Pretty pile! Better than the organization of mine, even if it’s in 2 small trunks.

I think the shelves should be full. Shouldn’t everyone’s home look like it’s part yarn store??? :-)

Girl, you are a hell of a lot better woman than I am…

I am ADD, not OCD, so just having all of my yarn in 3 rubbermaid-type of containers is truly a fantastic feat for me… Hey, today I actually cleaned up the living room so that I can take the 3 containers of yarn out and totally re-organize it… Why? So I have “Sweaters and other stuff” in one container, “Sock yarn ready to knit” in one container and “Sock yarn that needs to be wound into center pull balls” in the third container… Man, this sounds like I am starting to catch OCD from you guys ;-) Tomorrow sounds like a good day to go to Big Lots and get another little drawer set to organize knitting needles and other little odds and ends that we need to do our knitting… HELP ME!!! ALIENS ARE TAKING OVER MY BRAIN!!! I AM GETTING ORGANIZED!!! LOL!!!

LOL You’re too funny. If you ever need to reassure your husband show him my stash, it’s sure to make him appreciate the reasonableness of yours. :)

Love the organizers, and love the 2 knitted bags above the booga bag,
can you share info as to where they are from? I’m trying to find the perfect pattern
for my first bag (I’m really liking one I found in Debbie Bliss home) and those 2 look
    similar to it.
    Thanks!
