One Down, One To Go

I finished my first Sockapaloooza sock last night. I think it’s one of the prettiest socks I’ve ever seen and I can’t believe it’s not for me. How does that work? For anyone who doesn’t know, this pattern is from Sensational Knitted Socks and it’s the Welt Fantastic pattern. The yarn is from Jessie of a Piece of Vermont. I can’t stop staring at it. And to think I made my first sock just last fall.

sock

I have already started the second one and with my Shadow Shawl dangling in front of me I hope to finish sock #2 quickly.

I’m so excited that DYE-O-RAMA is looking like it’s going to be a hit! I think we might even need to have a cut-off number. We’re working on it. Stay tuned for all of the details. And thank you all for being so enthusiastic about my crazy idea.

And finally, it was in the 80’s here today and was unbelievably beautiful. The kids had school and then played all afternoon with their friends. The Toothless Wonder had so much fun driving around the neighborhood in this with his buddy.

Hummer

Why didn’t we have fun stuff like that when I was a kid? Okay. I’m going to be a good girl and get another hour of knitting in before I pass out.

I really like that sock - I just bought the book, too, so maybe that needs to be in my sock queue.
Oh, and I won some pretty purple sock yarn today and thought immediately of you, dear Scout.
And I only started knitting socks last fall - did you see my sock yarn stash?
    Sheesh!

    Sock looks fab!

Yeah, we had those growing up, but they were smaller and powered Fred Flintstone style. Very energy efficient.

Your sock is so awesome! The Hummer is so awesome!

We had a pedal car at my auntie’s when I was little. I put about 3,000 miles on it.

We had Barbie-mobiles, don’t you remember? At least some kids had one….not me. But I do remember seeing them on tv!

And I still have to check the stash to see if I have a good contrast yarn for the Shadow Shawl

Your sock looks wonderful! That yarn really looks great in that pattern. I’ve got that book but when I saw the pattern…. and how much it resembles the Jaywalker pattern… I decide “no. not for me.” I’ve made a few others from the book and just love them. Be sure to get the errata sheet that’s been made by the Sensational Knitted Socks Knitalong group if you haven’t seen it already! :)

That’s a beautiful sock! Lucky sock pal, indeed. I’m halfway up the leg of my first one (also toe up) — guess I’d better get a move on.

Sheesh, all we had was a little red wagon. Luckily we didn’t know what we were missing, so we had fun anyway :).

Gorgeous sock - I love the colours!

I’m afraid that back when I was a kid there was just the pedal-power kind of cars (my brother had a cute little two door coupe). That was pretty much back in the stone age!

    ;)
