You might end up with something like this: (click to see bigger)

Pink & purple

There are already over 100 people signed up. Maybe you’ll be the lucky recipient of some of this yarn! I’m really in love with these skeins that I dyed yesterday. They need names though. Any suggestions? Maybe the winner will get something. I’ll decide later. I thought one might be a Scout colorway but there’s too much brown in it. These are not self striping skeins. For the first time I did what most people do and just threw the dye on the yarn. It amazes me that this:

Can turn into such amazing yarn. I might even contemplate selling these….

I did that writing meme seen everywhere. Write a pangram on a piece of paper, sign your first name, take a photo of it, and load it onto your blog or upload into the flickr pool.

I love that first sentence. What? Come on…. it’s Friday!

Beautiful colorways! I’d name the one on the right, Favorite Jeans, and the other Preppy Chick.

    1. Grapealicious (or) Raspberry Cheesecake
    2. Blueberry Truffle (or) Twilight

(I really wish sometimes that my job was to name makeup/yarn/paint colours. Not that I’m any good at it.)

I’d name the blue/black one “Prizefighter” - it reminded me of bruises! (in a good way!)The little bits of blu/brown/white all mushed together!

I’m at a loss for names right now. Perhaps I’m not yet awake enough. I’ll ponder it though and let you know if anything comes to me. They are beautiful though!

Hi Scout, the colors look so pretty - they remind me of flowers (guess it is really spring after all), so I think these are good na,es:

    1. Foxglove - the pinks are vibrant flowers and the dark colors remind me of the stems
    2. Texas Bluebonnet - the blue-ish purples remind me of the blooms and again you have dark colors for the stems and the earth in which it grows.

Hi Scout - the one on the left immediatedly made me think, “Good & Plenty” [which is a candy I hate - but I love the yarn ].
The color on the right should be called, “just plain fucking gorgouse”.

Can you show us swatches of these when you swatch them? They looks so different in their different forms! Beautiful!!

Those sure are purty. I like the Good ‘n’ Plenty on the left, looks like it would be a fun pair of socks.

I immediately thought Good & Plenty for the purple one (I see that Jessica thinks the same way I do!). Maybe something like the Perfect Storm for the blue one. What fun!

You know I’d love to do it, but if I sign up for anything, it’s the death of it, it seems. Plus, with the garden season upon me, I know I’d disappoint myself. So I’ll watch from the sidelines.

The one on the left — Licorice Luv. The one on the right — Million Dollar Baby (becuase it also reminded me of a bruises in a good way.

They look great, “Rasberry Twist” for the ist one, the 2nd one is my fav, I’d call it “Bluebell Forest”, back
home at this time of year, the bluebells bloom especially in the forests, there are 100’s of them. The
colors in your yarn remind me of the bluebells against the brown of the tree trunks.

Call the one on the right “Five Dollar Baby”–that’s my boxing nick name!! hehe

I would name them Zan and Jayna, because the purples and pinks and blacks remind me of the costumes of The Wonder Twins on the old Superfriends cartoons.

The right skein should be called Sandia Peaks, the left one, Sugalite Delight. Both are just beautiful.

What were all those words about how you’d “never sell yarn” a few days ago? Hmmmm? Strange how quickly one’s mind can change! :)
I think they should be named Rosie-cheeked and blackandblue. They are lovely!

Aughhh gorgeous skeins! I decided to join the next dye-o-rama (there will be a next one yes, yes??) because my schedule is just sickeningly busy these days. :(
But I will throw in some names into the hat:
    - Blueberries ‘n’ Chocolate (the blue ones with the brown accents, durh)
    - Shwing! (cause that pink ones hawwwt!)

    2) The Fonz

I think you should go with something, you know, more OUT THERE than naming it after
    flowers and such. How about

    1) First STD…Cold Sore…Papercut
    2) High School Hickie (everyone thinks it looks like bruises, right?)

I am thinking that the first one needs to be Purple Passion and the second one needs to be midnight blue.

I can’t wait to see what I come up with for the swap! I have decided that I will have to dye two skeins of each color mix I choose so I don’t have to worry about not being able to part with a colorway!

Daggone, woman, another win (over at http://heideho.blogspot.com/)! In return you should pick my yarn names.
Oh, and I thought of a second one for the pink: Yarn Magnolia!

Did you want serious name guesses…? ;o)

btw, told RR that I signed up for this yarn dyeing swap thing because some psycho kept emailing me. His response? “You CAN’T do that! Keep giving away all the yarn I pay for why dontcha.” He was cranky at the time - he just hates it when I stain the kitchen linoleum (my little way of ruining it beyond recognition so he’ll finally replace it) ;o)

I think you should call the purple toned one Purple Craze.

Wow! Over 100 people for the Dye-O-Rama Swap.

The second one sort of says, “Midnight Swim” to me. >.> They’re gorgeous, though, I love them! Socks with those would be very cool.

For the first one, I want to say Licorice Twist. See, when you mentioned that a couple of days ago, the first thing that came to mind was a box of Good & Plentys, and this has those colors in it.

Of course, that’s not original, since other people have already said it (now that I go back and look at the comments). So add ANOTHER vote to that column from me.

I would name the second one Erin, only because it reminds me of my friend Erin - blue eyes, dark brown hair, it’s like it’s the same color as Erin!

On the left, Cherry Garcia (OK, I know this is illegal, but it spoke to me). On the right, Brook. (Or Brooke, if you’d rather have a girl.)

I can’t wait to do this!

love your new yarns. I think the lighter one should be called “Nuts and Berries”

The first one should be peppermint samba, or raspberry samba. The black says samba to me.

The other one is more Saphires in the Night to me.

I can’t wait to get involved in dying yarn! I too can’t believe that something like what you showed turns into gorgeous yarns :).
