Scout's Knitted Swag

Rosalie

This was a custom order I did today and it came out exactly like I imagined. Rosalie is a customer at the shop and yesterday she saw my yarns and asked if I would dye her some yarn for a Shadow Shawl. She wanted something to go with a dark denim colored Silky Wool that she could wear with jeans. She basically told me all of the colors of the shirts she wears and told me to just run with it. (dark green, purples, blues, reds) I used about six different colors for this and there are 540 yards of 100% superwash Merino in the skein. Of course I need to name it after her. Yummy huh? I think this is a keeper…..

Canyon Trail? Or is that taken already? Those Mountain Colors people have all the good names. In any case, the yarn is quite lovely. How about just Rosalie?

Each time you show a new yarn I have a new favorite. This is beautiful! I have a
question for you about dyeing, Madame Dye-O-Rama. How do you keep your yarn
from becoming fuzzy during the handling?

  20. Helen | May 16th, 2006 | 7:02 pm

    STOP IT!
you’re generating more and more yarn lust.

    I LOVE this colorway!
I’m going to have to stop reading this blog if I’m not going to blow a gasket and special order miles of yarn…

  21. Lynette | May 16th, 2006 | 7:10 pm

  29. Leisel | May 17th, 2006 | 6:59 am

Num! I don’t know how it knits up, but in the skein it looks just like Koigu (LOL… I glanced up, and apparently I’m not the only one to have that thought), and the colors are right up my alley!

  30. hillary | May 17th, 2006 | 7:18 am

That yarn is gorgeous! I’ll need to get some soon. I just need to wait until my husband forgets how much I spent at MDS&W.

  31. Wendi | May 17th, 2006 | 7:30 am

That’s gorgeous! Right up my alley! So how much does a skein that size cost? I just
bought some navy silky wool for my shadow shawl last week. That would look great with it.
