Fun!

I got a custom order to do a self-striping colorway for Julie so she could make some Illini socks for her sister. Shoot. I hope her sister doesn’t read knitting blogs. I guess they are huge University of Illionois fans and she wants to make some Jaywalkers in their school colors. This was the link she sent me. It’s my first time doing one of these school colors things and it was fun! Here is what I got.

Illini

Pretty much right on spot if I do say so myself. She wanted the orange to be the dominant color then blue then white. I can’t wait to see her knit this up! Who else wants school colors? Bring it! Oh wait….. are you doing the stash-along? ;)

    This is SO not right. Those also happen to be my (pathetic) NY Islanders colors. So now I know where BOTH of my exceptions are going ;-)

    If only I had attended a school that I wanted to celebrate with socks - but alas - I’d rather forget about my school years! :) But I think you should make sock yarn for all four houses of Hogwarts. I’m sure most of us wish we had gone to school there anyway! I’ve seen Gryffindor socks but none for the other houses…

    that is totally awesome, and spot on! :)

    [my alma mater's colors are technically old gold and white -- but they always put gold + white + navy together, which I would totally make socks from but isn't that interesting a color scheme, eh?! ]
