The Good News and The Bad News

Let’s start with the bad news shall we? Well y’all went and crashed my shop! To make a very long story short, I left after putting the memberships up to go and pass out flyers in my neighborhood for a block party I am organizing. When I got back? It said -18 six month spots. Yes my friends. NEGATIVE 18 spots. I immediately shut it all down as I realized so many people signed up at once it couldn’t keep up. At one point there were 21 sales in 1 minute. It took a full 7 minutes for Zencart to finally catch up and by 9:09pm it had sold 29 of my original 10 - six month spots. Uh yeah…..I was only going to do a total of 20 spots remember? Can you say, immediate nervous breakdown? Basically, it was sold out in 2 minutes. Crazy! So that’s the horrible, no good, very bad day have an anxiety attack, news.

The good news? I immediately contacted all of the designers in a completely panic. I explained what happened and begged them to do the additional swag. And guess what? They all agreed. Hallelujah! Praise Maude! So, if you paid don’t worry. You have your spot. Even those EIGHTEEN of you who got a 6 month spot who shouldn’t have, Yeah, you guys who crashed my shop? YOU! I still love you. Now we have 34 club members. Not what I planned, but better than having to refund money and possibly have Jacey come after me…..I expect to mail out the first swag between the 2nd and 3rd week in October.

So thank you all so much for your enthusiasm. I know there were still people who didn’t get in and all I can say is come back for round two. I’ve already spoken with webguru Bruce and we will try our hardest to get this worked out by the next sign up. In the meantime, shop at our Indie Designer’s Stores! Support Indie Businesses!

Congratulations on the sell outs. We had a bit of excitement up here which caused
me to miss signing up. Our house received an offer. I countered over the phone
and they accepted the counter on the spot. We close in 19 days so it’s going to
be assess and elbows up here finishing up the projects, packing, finding a house
and school there, etc.! So with all that’s happening maybe missing out on this round
is a good thing. Afterall, I’d hate to be distracted by yarny goodness when there’s
work to be done. Is it possible to go on a waiting list for January? Cheers.

hehe. i knew it was going to go that way, i mean, not THAT way, but a crashing way. It’s funny that both bruce and I are hyperlinked to faith and facts, a “sermonzone” message board. Our vengance would be swift, right?

I can’t wait to get my swag! good handling.

Holy moly! I hope I wasn’t one of the sitecrashers.

I’ve seen this sort of thing happen with cloth diapering webstores before - someone will stock x number of a diaper and then the cloth diaper fanatics (aka “hyenas”) all descend upon the shop and managed to by many more than were actually stocked. And at that point, what can the person do but hurry up and make more to satisfy the overbuying?

Hopefully it’s not too much of a hardship, time- or product-wise. I can’t tell you just how excited I am about this! I’ve been ridiculously giddy since last night at 8, so much so that my husband is a little perplexed. Heh.

Wasn’t me! I had mine cleared through PayPal by 6:01 Pacific. I was blindly clicking through as fast as I could, agreeing to whatever it said.

I’m not sure, but I think I’m giving you my first born and a kidney! o.0

    :P

See everyone just loves you guys and wants to be a part of this ground breaking phenomenon! :D

Glad everything is working out though. Stress!!! :( *falls over* I hope you got a good nights sleep and got some kickass coffee going this morning. :D

Congratulations on such a Fantabulous Success!!

See the power of knitters, when they want something look what they’ll
do to get it. I’m so happy I got mine. You’re definitely going to need to go to
Bettys again for some relaxation with all the extra orders you got. So happy
for you that your new club was a success (even more so than you expected)

I didn’t make it in, but on the bright side I can save up my pennies for next time. Would you consider a waiting list? Congrats Scout.

I hope I wasn’t one of the crashers either =( (I don’t think so cause I was flying through those screens). But I’m so glad the club is a success and that the other contributors can help out. What about you though? That’s 18 more skeins to produce! You make sure to rest young lady. I think a lot of chocolate is in your future. And bubble baths. And…. =)

My order went through paypal at 9:01pm! When I saw that there were 50+ people on the site, I wondered how
I could be so lucky to get the 6 month membership!! Thanks for finding a way to accomodate the overage!

Congrats! I had a feeling it was overselling when I was able to get a spot myself.
So, even after I saw my Paypal confirmation I was preparing myself for maybe not getting it after all.
I think this is such a great idea and I am super excited to support so many great indie businesses.

Wow lots of excitement in the air. I too was one of those 6:01 or 6:02 PST checkouts.
nervously refresing and paging thru each step so that I could check out quickly
    before it sold out.
Great job on this–I knew you would sell out fast.
You’re like the Goose with the Golden Eggs:) Everyone gotta have some swag!
