Karma’s a Bitch
That’s the name of this little happy accident. I mean, I know I can’t compete with some people and their 25 years of experience plus academic knowledge of how the human eye perceives and physiologically blends color. WTF?!? You’ll have to listen to the latest Lime & Violet podcast to understand what this is all about. Pippi and I were talking about this last night and we both agree….. Karma’s a bitch yo! Go listen to the podcast. I’ll wait. Then come back and finish reading this post.
Okay. Back? Aren’t they funny?! So I found it completely ironic that while I was dyeing this skein of Snakes on a Skein I accidentally got some violet on the lime. I was upset because it meant I had to redo the skein for my customer and didn’t know how I’d fix it. I finally had some time yesterday to play with it. I decided to add black to it and I really love how it came out. It made me totally laugh when I thought about that horribly mean woman mentioned on the podcast who rips on pretty much all other hand painted artistes and how we all suck because we haven’t done this for 25 years like her. Gee, her warm and fuzzies really make me want to buy yarn from her…. um….. not.

This skein has the Lime & Violet Colors plus the happy accident black. It has 490 yards of 100% Superwash Merino. Even though there is additional yardage I’ll still sell it for $25.00 plus shipping because I believe this skein holds magical powers. I promise it will bring you an unbelievable amount of good karma. And, how can you pass up a skein of yarn called Karma’s a Bitch? If you want it, just leave a comment.
I have a headache and am tired. Can you tell? Oh, and Superboy woke us up at 4:30am because he “heard it raining”. Don’t irritate me when I’m cranky or all of my yarn will have names like this. I just don’t understand people sometimes. If you can’t say something nice? Right? And this concludes this post also titled, “How to piss off Scout.”
**This was about a horribly negative person
they mentioned on their podcast who sells on Ebay.
Not about something they said about dyers!**

karma is a bitch. haha.
you know, i’m of the skool “if you can’t say anything nice”
but, i will verge a bit; i went to that person’s website last night and looked closely at some of her colorways, and she has no room to brag.
sheesh.
Scout, if it’s still available I’d totally love that skein. The way things have been going the last few weeks I think some magical Karma’s a Bitch socks are just the ticket!
LOVE IT!
I think the poster before me is getting it, but if for some reason it is still
available, I will take it.
That’s awesome!! I tried to find her website after listening to the podcast, but my googling skills suck I guess. LOL!
Love the colorway though, and the name’s even better!
Happy little accident, indeed. I love it!
Oh my goodness! Love at first sight!! I WANT it!!! If it’s still available (or you do more) I’d love ot have it.
So… what? She sucked for 24 years and is now totally fab? Oh, please.
Nothing with cranky, honey.
OMG! Sweet! The black just makes the other colors pop even more!
And as far as “happy accidents” go, I like it. There are a lot of “happy accidents” in this world, and most of them end up being the best things ever. It’s what makes life exciting. Without happy accidents, it would all become very mundane.
Love it, love it!
What a perfect name! Great solution too - it came out cool.
I haven’t listened to the podcast yet…but I sure know the type. I think those people are jeolous that some people have enough talent to make beautifully colored things without having done it for 25 years first!
The rain woke me up this morning! I heard that podcast.
So who is the big bad ebay girl ( I know you know)?
How about this—I am not going to listen to the podcast (because I don’t need to, I know they type, and I’ve got plenty enough of them I am trying to avoid, thank you!), but I’ll take the skein, or take another if you redye the accident!
I still love it.
Karma IS quite a bitch, and I’m sure THAT one’s just a complete bitter hag over the fact that her attitude has lost her sales and she blames it on all the “artiste” dye-istas rather than on her own crappy attitude.
(By the way, MissyJoon — I got the impression from your comment that Scout was pissed at -us-. We reported on an ebay seller who was TOTALLY pretentious. It definitely WAS NOT US who said that stuff about the 25 years of experience, blah blah blah. We (heart) Scout and all the independent dyeistas.
)
Scout you continue to amaze ane tempt me!
Your strength at resisting yarn is beyond my comprehension…I would have kept it for my self…good job!
The colors look so cool! I learned in college from an artist friend that sometimes mistakes turn into the coolest things..
I would love to pick up a skein from you. Let me know what to do…
How are things in the world of high desert?
GREAT stuff.
And like Ramona asked, WHO is this bitter mystery person???
your “accidents” seem pretty successful to me. and that’s a GREAT photo with the cloud mountains.
have a great weekend!
Sheesh. Lighten up
p~
And don’t rip my head off for that - I’m joking fer chrissakes. And I’m sick. You can’t yell at me when I’m sick. ;o)
I did’nt hear the podcast, but I don’t need too. I love your handpainted yarn,
and by the response to your Indie club it shows you have some great supporters.
Don’t let negative people get you down, just keep doing what toy are doing. I love
The “accident” colorway.
Love the colors. Hey I listened to that podcast yesterday and could not believe
how full of themselves some people are. I did want to know who they were
talking about thought to see if for myself.
Have a great weekend:)
That is a beautiful skein of yarn! I’ll have to go listen to the podcast to fully understand what you’re talking about, but I hate it when people are negative.
Ack! That woman was so awful! I couldn’t believe someone would say something that obviously unpleasant and expect it to come across as decent advertising. >.
I’m of the “If you can’t say anything nice, come sit by me!” skool. muahahaha!
Ian used to do that thing where he wakes up because he can hear it raining on the roof and feels that he must wake up everyone else to tell them he’s awake. Thank goodness he eventually learned to just go sleep on the couch where he can’t hear the rain and not wake me up.
Hopefully Superboy will learn to love the sound of rain and the safe feeling of being in bed listening to it. Someday.
LOVE the colorway. Looks like you have a new fave for the store. Just toss that baby right in my Scout’s swag box.
Hey! I am NOT!
Hee hee.
Hope you’re feeling better!
Headaches and tiredness are crummy - hope that they will clear up soon and you’re feeling better.
Love that colourway - somehow I think mr pao won’t let me order any more yarn again.
I know the type exactly from going to art school. I had a prof that believed that procion was only for dead heads and that the dye I use wasn’t a real dye because it doesn’t require auxiliaries. For all of my years of college and knowledge of fibers & dye I just couldn’t look down on anybody out there. In fact I think the more people out there dyeing and trying new things the better!
Hey! That ebay thing is too much isn’t it!! I could unfortunately tell you a few other stories! It is a bit sad…. I just was looking at your FLICKR photos and yarns are so pretty! I miss that NM SKY! I used to come over there quite a bit…..!
All of those great responses. Will you be dyeing MORE of the “Karma’s A Bitch” colorway. I’d love some!
