Computer=dead. Gone. Everything lost. Fabulous! My tech guy said he might be able to retrieve some data but you know what? It’s not worth it. Thankfully I switched to Gmail a few months ago so all important info is there. Otherwise, everything else is on Flickr, Paypal, or uploaded to my domains. I honestly don’t even have the energy to get upset about it at this point. Zen is my friend. That’s the way I’m going with this. I might even have it back later today so I can’t complain. Somehow I think after having him rebuild the whole thing it will work better anyway. Thank you all for your sweet and supportive comments.
At least after having such a horrible day I found this in my mailbox.

I can’t tell you how much better I felt as soon as I put it on. It really does have superpowers. The weight of the necklace alone, is just amazing. I love that you can feel it around your neck. I want to publically than Andrea and I hope that a bunch of you go and treat yourself to something from her. Go on. Treat yourself. You know you deserve it.
Also, if you haven’t seen this yet, go check out Gale’s website where she created this fantastic poster for the Red Scarf Project. Go ask her to send you a poster so you can print one out and take one to your LYS. Please spread the word.

Timing is everything. It is lovely on you.
*hugs*
i;m glad even with things being…um..sucky that you have a postiive outlook.
i’ve had 3 bad things too.
yarn stuck in ball winder.
my wallet was stolen from my car, parked in my driveway.
i was making home made pizza tonight and dropped an entired container of shredded
cheese on the floor….
i wanted to cry, but decided to dye some yarn tonight…
oh, that poster is so awesome!
Glad yoo’re feeling better!
Oh no about the computer! That is a fab necklace though.
Yikes! As the person on the wrong end of several dead computers, I can’t recommend an external hard drive and a free program called Cobian Backup highly enough; they’ll keep you out of Heartbreak Hotel even if they’re not as pretty as that fab necklace!
Poor thing. At least you know what you do and don’t have, so that anxiety/anticipation is over. Sounds like you have the best possible attitude about the situation.
I would NOT be as calm in the same circumstances.
The necklace is lovely…I’m trying so hard to be good and not click the link….must not blow the rent on more pretty things.
Damned computers. I’m glad that necklace showed up at the perfect time to cheer you up!
I’m sorry about the computer. Love the necklace - that was indeed perfect timing.
argh those darn computers!! and they’re supposed to *simplify* our lives.uh huh.
your necklace looks beautiful!! don’t you just love them?! i get so many compliments on mine, i think they really do have magical super powers! take ‘er easy, i think a cosmo may be in order n’est-ce pas?
stinkers! sending you hugs and zen and one of those inflatible standup punching/kicking guys. just in case the zen thing doesn’t work out
I feel your computer pain. Which is yet more evidence for the truth that jewelry (well, it seems pretty much anything) is more dependable, than my computer, which I spend half my life on anyway!
sister… you need to do a colorway named “zen is my friend”!
Hi scout, sorry to hear about your computer, if its any consolation, i managed to ruin two computers in one week!!!!!!!! i cant imagine how much the bill will come up to! Good luck with yours…….repeat “goosefraaaabaaaa” and hopefully you’ll be cool.
oh who won your contest??
Oh no - I managed to retrieve stuff off a very unhappy laptop last year when its owner showed up at my office in tears so it is possible.
Glad to hear you are pragmatic about it. That is a beautiful necklace.
you look gorgeous in that necklace… and this is a lesson/reminder to us all that we should spend the “little” bit extra and have an external hard drive to back up to. MUST do that myself soon!
bises!
Love the necklace, sorry about your computer. I really like your license plates, you
go girl.
Hang in there. I agree with Mama-e on that “Zen is my friend” yarn. What about one called “Computer Blues”? Deep breathes and determined thoughts.
Beautiful necklace! Sorry to hear about your computer.
Very pretty necklace! I have my eye on the new Joy one. But Alas it will have to
wait. So sorry to hear about your laptop –good thing you had everything backed up.
Ugh, sorry to hear about the laptop…that’s awful. But the necklace is FABOO!!
I am so sorry about the computer- what a bummer. But you have an amazing attitude- it will all even out in the end, my friend. And thanks for those links!
ARRRRGhhh! How disgustingly tragic about your computer - I am shuddering to think -
I second the vote for an external hard drive. Ever since my laptop was taken hostage by a MAL/Virus attack, I’ve backed up religiously on an external.
See ya later - gotta go try and get a new phone - I lost mine! MUST be something in the water for all this Hardware Badluck to be flowing our way…
Necklace is lovely. Sorry about the laptop!
