Socktoberfest!

**Okay gang…. I need to close this for now. If I can get all of these orders done in a few weeks I will open this back up okay? Give me until about mid-October and we’ll see. Thanks for the great response! And I’m not going to keep a wait list. Please understand that with this and the Indie Swag Club I’m up to my eyeballs in lists and orders!**

It’s Octbober! That means it’s officially Socktoberfest! In honor of the hostess with the mostest, I created a new colorway - Socktoberfest. This skein is for Lolly for a pair of knee-highs. It was going to be a surprise but I decided to do something special for this month for all of the Socktoberfest knitters so I’m showing everyone the pretty yarn.

How fun will those be to wear on Halloween!? (Hurry up Lolly and finish the ones you just started) For the whole month of October, I will sell 500 yards of this colorway to anyone who is participating in Soctoberfest. I can do it into two skeins like this so you can easily make your knee-highs or into one if you’d like. That’s 80-125 yards free! (depending on the fiber you choose) The price will be $25.00 plus shipping. Just let me know if you want some. You can still buy it if you aren’t in Socktoberfest but you just won’t get the additional yardage. M’kay?

Speaking of dyeing, I have 4 hours until my soccer game and I had better git.

Oh.

my.

god.

I’m trying to write this post and Supergirl just yelled, “Daddy?! Why does butter have BUTT in it?” I’m laughing so hard I can barely type. I need to go work. Have a good one y’all.

I’m not sure what’s making me giggle more, the comment your Supergirl made or the fact that the top picture of the two skeins in the stuffed jack-o-lantern looks like a Halloween Mickey Mouse!!!

That is truly a neat colorway (not one I’d have ever thought would go together). I’d jump on it but I don’t even know if I can make socks yet. Let’s see how it goes with the yarn from the Indie Swag Club goes first. =)

[...] Yeah, long story, but Scout? I know you’re totally busy dyeing 35 skeins for the sock club, and that you have like 30 million orders of that Socktoberfest Yarn, but if you feel compelled to write up those directions for winding that warping board of yours…well I’d volunteer to be your slave helper for dyeing the next month’s worth of sock club yarn. Cause I totally didn’t wind the Pink Panther right, and it definitely didn’t go back on the board right, so it became a giant tangled mess. It’s almost done being wound into a nice little ball, since everytime I walk by it, I weave the ball through the tangled parts just a little bit more. I’m hoping to be done with it sometime before I die, but there is a lot of it. Hopefully Lori is blessed with patience as much as luck…did you know that this is her 3rd consecutive win on a sock yarn contest? [...]

[...] Further proof that I am a loser? I joined Socktoberfest, it’s October 5th already, and I have yet to touch a sock…my excuse? I’m waiting for my Socktoberfest yarn from Scout. [...] These will not be coming with me to Rhinebeck though as it would be damn near impossible for me to maintain any sort of communication while executing a 12 row chart on size 1’s. Unless I changed my mind (again) and decided to do plain ole vanilla stockinette…maybe with a picot cuff? Anyhow…here’s Scout’s Socktoberfest colorway in the Diamante pattern from the new Knitty. I’ve gotten mixed reviews so far. Some have thought it too busy, or that the colors are overpowering the diamonds, or that the pattern is taking away from the beauty that is the yarn itself, and others have liked it as is. I’m sitting on the fence here and my butt is starting to hurt from the pickets poking me. Any advice/comments/suggestions oh wise and knowledgeable bloggers? [...]
