Hey Spinners

Check it out.

I took a little detour and did some of this for the first time.

Puesta Del Sol & Harlot’s Mums

mums

People have asked me why I haven’t been dyeing roving and to be honest? Up until now it totally intimidated me. The other day I was talking with someone when I had a major *a-hah* moment. Our new grill has a separate burner where I can steam roving and yarn! I refuse to do any of this stuff in the house which is another reason why I haven’t played around with this yet. I know that sounds weird but I just don’t want my kitchen to turn into my dye room if I can help it. I picked up some roving at the shop yesterday, soaked it today in some Aquae and it was ready to go. It was my first time using the Soak and I absolutely love how it smells. Even while the roving was steaming I could smell it. Besides these two I also did a Socktoberfest and a Death Eaters. Miss Lime gets first choice as I promised my first hand-dyed roving to her, and then the other 3 will be for sale.  I’ll get the price and details up once I know which ones are available. Now I can’t wait to see someone spin with it. Is this something you would like to see up in the shop from me? If enough people want it, I’ll definitely do more of it. I’ll still carry Pippi’s roving though!

Fantastic! I’m just a baby drop-spinner, so I’m not sure if I could do your roving justice at the time, but I’m getting better everyday, so I’d love to see it in the shop!

You are making me want to spin, and I don’t know how! I think I’ll ask for a spindle for Christmas along with my bag, the Soak, and whatever else I find while surfing the swag…

Love the roving, you did a good job! That’s Harlot’s Mum’s is especially gorgeous. It’s cool to see your colors in a different medium…I’m curious to see what those will look like spun up.

Jamie, you’ve done a wonderful job!!!! The room is waiting for you - we just have to
get the people into your’e class. Maybe you should try a class in roving. I particulary
love the Puesta del Sol. Maybe I can spin some into a yarn for you - no time limit.
