to send this out as our holiday card this year. You see, this picture completely sums up what Supergirl is all about. She’s happy all of the time and a total goof. She is the ultimate jokester. She makes everyone laugh all of the time. As I mentioned on Saturday I was trying to get a good picture for our card this year while we were at the playground. This my friends is what I have to deal with. She would make a face like this, I would crack up, Superboy would crack up and it would take 5 minutes until I could get them to calm down and smile normally again. “You guys! Come ONNNNNNN!!”

You see, after my mother passed away I kind of took over her address book and I feel that it’s very important for me to keep in touch with all of her friends. Therefore, every year I send out about 100 cards. It’s the way I stay connected with all of those people. They love watching the kids grow up and truly appreciate it when I send this to them. Every time I look at this picture I totally crack up. I can only imagine what people would say if this is what showed up to their house…..don’t you think I should though? I think it’s hysterical. That Supergirl. I am already bracing myself for the parent teacher conferences with her school teachers. “Well, she’s a very bright little girl but she won’t stop making faces and disrupting the class. She’s quite the class clown!” I’m just going to blame her father.
Can you all help me with something please. What is your most favorite, can’t live without knitting notion/accessory? I want to add more to the shop but I only want your favorites. I would say for me it’s a tie between my Clover Cutter Pendant and my Mini Kacha-Kacha Counter

I don’t go anywhere without the two of them. Oh wait. I love my Chibis too…

I say use it! Totally cute and not the normal “Hey we’re dressed up like snow people even though it’s 990 degrees outside!
Hehehehehe….do it! That is the cutest card I have ever seen!
I say go for it - everyone can use a good laugh at Christmas!
Plus, think how funny it wll be in a few years when she says “Mom! I can’t believe you
sent out this picture of me!”
Definitely go for it. If we were all good girls all the time the world would be such a dull place.
Such cute kids! I’d definitely send out that pic on the card. Everyone will appreciate a more candid photo, since they tend to be a rarity on photo cards.
For the shop, I’d say either the Clover Cutter (vital for plane knitting) or the Chibis. Can’t live without either one!
hahaha! I am all for fun and funky christmas cards
Send it, I love it. I personally hate the posing cards, I like the more natural ones.
I like both the cutter and the counter, I don’t go anywhere without them
Hehehehe, I would definitely send it, they are adorable.
I love the 3 of them if you were to have only 1, I would go with the mini-kacha, they are more difficult to find.
Addi Crochet hooks if possible. They are hands down the best I have ever used.
Yep. Use that picture. hehehe I prefer casual shots rather than posed; they just seem more true. And that is one true photo. lol
I love my Clover Cutter Pendant. It doesn’t even have a place to go when it’s put away, because it’s never put away. It sits on the table beside the chair where I do most of my knitting.
You totally should!!
I love it!
The mini counter!! Theminicountertheminicountertheminicounter. I bought ONE a while back, NEED MORE, and can’t find them in any of my LYS. Yes, yes, yes, the mini counter!!!!
Yes, send that card!! My youngest is always making people laugh and doing silly things, we sent out a card from Disney World two years ago that really summed up all my kids peronalities!! I love my Chibi needles!! I also use a small needle guage and ruler in one. It is called Turbo Needleguage by Skacel. Have a good day!
I vote for the picture…ours this year is my girls being dumped as they attempt to return from sea kayaking…The look on their faces is priceless…
I also say the counter and the Chibis…I have been collecting those lately - love the colors.
You really should use that photo for your cards!! It’s adorable!
My brother and sister-in-law always use a picture of their kids for their holiday cards and last year it had two smiling and one with his arms crossed with a very pissed off look on his face and they sent that out to everyone! I thought “what in the world??” but everyone else seemed to think it was very cute. At least Supergirl has a cute playful grin instead of having her arms crossed looking pissed off! heh It’s really perfect for holiday cards.
DEFINITELY use the card!
I think as far as knitting accessories go, I can manage to find a nail clipper or something if I can’t find my cutter, and I can make do without my row counters - but I cannot live without my Chibi. I already own a Chibi, though, so I don’t know what that *means.* :o)
Well, the chibis go without saying! But the counter is always in my bag too.
My new NAMASTE bag, bought at your shop, that is! I totally recomend it to everyone!
Supergirl put a big smile on my face! What a cutie and superboy too! I vote for Chibis!
Use the picture! it DOES so totally catch both of their spirits. And catches that Abq sky…
for the notions I vote for the mini-kacha. Remind me to pick a few up when I see you next. big mwah to you both and the SuperKids.
that would make the cutest holiday card!
i have like four chibis and love them all to bits. same goes for my kacha-kachas. so the cuttern pendants are that great, eh? i will have to give them a try!
Totally send it! I love it. Am I not a “real” knitter since I don’t have any of the tools you pictured
Use the pic! That is adorable, and the pic would make anyone smile. We’re deciding between dd’s preschool pics right now. DH and I both love the one where she looks like she’s up to something. I vote for all three accessories. If I *had* to pick one, it would be the row counter because I don’t have one.
LOL - I love that photo! Aside from the fact that when she’s a teen she may question why you sent it (and be totally embarrassed, but hey - that’s part of of the fun). Most people will think it’s cute, and don’t worry about the ones who “don’t get it”.
As for the notions - I love my Kacha-Kacha (I have 2 of the red ones) - but have never seen a mini! That is SO cool. I have Chibis (and use them), and have the Clover cutters attached to a couple of my knitting bags. I also have the one for sewing. But I have to say I can’t do without the Kacha-Kacha, especially for lace. I think I need to add that mini one to my Christmas wishlist, it’s too cute!
Fabu picture! It’s your kids in a nutshell!!
I have 2 Kacha-Kacha’s (the red) and was just saying to my husband that I really need something that could go around my neck to count! And just one isn’t enough. That’s the first notion that came to mind for me. I got a Chibi from a swap pal and that comes in handy, but I vote for the Kacha-Kacha’s!
Great picture of the kids. I like the real, everyday pictures the best.
You’ve got to send that card. They’re so cute!
Chibis.. I have to have my Chibis.
Definitely stitch markers in sets that let you have a main and say 2 to mark sides while a stray marks a decrease. Also some sort of note book-small is good & if it stands up all the better. I say send that card for the holidays! If that’s who thay are, let em’ be that! Ya know George Carlin didn’t do so bad being the “Class Clown”. just sayin’
Great photo for a Christmas card~ so sweet that you still keep in touch with all of your mom’s friends and let her see how your children are growing up. I love my stitch markers and little 5×7 soft zipper pouch to keep my accessories in.
I lurve my mini kacha counter. Would love one for every project!
I have a red Kacha but would love that mini! Hands down for my very favouritest knitting accessory is the Chibi. They are very hard to find up here in Canada but thanks to exchanges I have an orange, a green, a cream and green, and a blue. Now if I could get my hands on one of those old pink and white ones…
I LOVE the picture. My family always does pseudo-serious ones that are actually quite hilarious. A few year ago, we took a picture of us outside on our back porch, and at the top of the picture, our heads are all the same height. But the card was more of a letter folded into thirds, so when the card was opened, it was clear that my dad was standing on the bottom step of the porch, my sister and I on the second, and my mother (at a good 5′3″) was on the top step. I love cards like that: ones that really show off a family.
Also, I WISH I had a row counter that locked. Jealous!
I used to work in a photo lab and we printed hundreds of thousands of photos for holiday cards. A few times a day we would come across a photo that just cracked us all up, and it would go up on the Wall of Fame/Shame. Supergirl rocks and so does Superboy so tell them to keep it up. As for fave knitting accessories, I am dying for a pink Chibi. I love Clover’s little row-counter simply because it IS pink but I’ve heard rumours that there exists a pink Chibi. Love the blog, it always lifts my spirits.
I think the pic is great and would make a fabulous holiday card that will bring a smile to the face of everyone who gets one!
I vote for chibi’s and my skacel needle gauge/ruler….never tried a kacha kacha, might have to now
That’s Supergirl, therefore it would be a shame to take a more “serious” picture. Your kids are adorable. If you can only choose one accessory then definately the cutter.
What I want to know is when some ingenious knitter will invent a Swiss Army-type knitting tool. It would have all of those three items included and would fit nicely around
your neck or into one of the smaller pouches in those wonderful Namaste bags. Organization is a good thing… I don’t have it.
I think that is a great photo for your cards! She is enjoying life, that is something you should be proud of! I love it!
I’m voting for the card and the mini ka-ching. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one!
wow, i think that card is beautiful! what do you think folks would say? “man, those sure are happy, beautiful kids!”
Hi…testing…again…
HOLY CHRISTONACRACKER IT WORKED!!
You’re BRILLIANT ;o) heheee
…you probably want me to stop leaving comments now…right? ;o)
…HA since it is now working and the two of us together make GENIUS I shall stop. ;o)
Send it! Send it!
You should totally use that picture - talk about a fun card, totally not the usual posed stuff.
Hmm, I never use the yarn cutter pendants. I love the orange chibis. And I’m a big fan of the mini-kacha kacha. I also love the barrel row counters that hang off a circular needle when knitting in the round - perfect beginning of round markers.
I think that would make a great holiday card!
I want the green ka-cha — I’ll buy it if you carry it! I already have a chibi (although a blue one) and the yarn cutter thingy….
Couple days late chiming in because I’m ridiculously behind on blog reading…but here you are: a chibi with needles goes with me everywhere, but my true goofy love goes to the kacha-kacha. I adore it, and would like to own more than one, as I have multiple projects going.
