I never get sick. Very, very rarely. Somehow everything caught up with me and bam! I have a nasty sinus thing going on. Luckily, Nyquil is my friend and I finally got some sleep last night. But man do I feel like I’ve been run over by a truck. You know I’m sick when I don’t work out. I might try and get out for a really little run today, but somehow I don’t think I’ll be able to. I keep telling myself that TV ads 10 pounds right? Ack. I need to run. Thank you all for sharing in my excitement about being on Knitty Gritty. Your support means so much to me. The one thing I’m desperately looking for are a pair of finished socks done in the Orchid colorway. Please tell me that someone out there has a pair? Anyone? Make my day will yah?
Speaking of making my day will you take a look at these? I dyed a new colorway called Fetching for the pattern and the amazingly sweet and talented Cookie made these for me in about two seconds. I love them so much. The pattern is Fetching from knitty.com and I want a hundred more pairs of these. Thank you again Cookie. You totally rock sister.
To get back to the show, a number of people have asked what I’m going to actually do on the show. I will be dyeing you silly people. I’m really excited as it’s going to be pretty different than their normal show. The yarn I dyed has already been received by the producer who sent it out to the Knitsters. They will all be knitting with the same colorway that I will be dyeing on the show. (but their skeins are all different from one another) I will show how to use the warping board for self-striping yarn and then will dye a skein to be variegated. Finally, I will show how the yarn knits up with a very simple knitting project. The part I’m most looking forward to is at the end where I will flash all of the things knitted with my yarn.
Needless to say the next few weeks will be filled with getting everything ready for this along with trying to keep up with Scout’s Swag and the Indie Swag. I just want to get through Thanksgiving so I can get back to all of this work. Speaking of Scout’s Swag, I was able to grab the last 6 Haiku bags had in stock. I got 4 Midnight Blue, 1 Bamboo Green and I snagged the last Pink one. She is totally sold out now so I was lucky to get these last few. I won’t have any more of these until after December 4th. I don’t think she’s making the pink one anymore either.
Time to git. Sorry if this is somewhat incoherent as that’s how my brain is currently functioning. I have one more day with the kids in school before they are home for 4 days where I won’t get anything done. We are also going out of town on Friday night with some friends so there’s another day where I can’t work. I just hope I can get away for 24 hours and not worry about all of the stuff I should be doing. I promise to try to get a manicure today to keep from messing with my fingers. I got some of that Burt’s Bees Cuticle stuff as well as using the Heal My Hands Ultra (which totally rocks) before bed and I think I’m doing pretty well. Thanks for all of the advice on the cuticle front. Have a great Thanksgiving if you celebrate it!

Oh, and I’m stealing your photo of Fetching. It’s so much better than the ones I took over here. *hugs*
Those are beautiful!!
Lucky gal!
I hope you feel better soon!!!!!!
My kids feel the same way! Hope you get better soon.
Congratulations on the show! Hooray! I love your fetchings
Those look superb! And don’t say anything about the camera adding 10lbs…eeek, that makes me want to hid under the covers cuz I know I can’t lose 10 in 2 weeks.
Sorry, hit return too early - brain not working.
Hope you are better soon!!
Feel better. You have so many fab things going on. Congrats on all!
Where to start. First, please rest and get better. Being all stuffed up is just crappy.
The fingerless gloves are GORGEOUS! If, I mean when I finish my socks, I’d like to try a pair of those.
Good luck with the show. I’m sure you’ll be wonderful. =)
Those are lovely! Sorry to hear you’re feeling poorly. I never used to get sick, but as soon as the kids started pre-school (aka the Germ Incubator), i started getting one or two raging colds per season.
Try not to overdo it, and have a great Thanksgiving.
Sorry about being sick, that’s never fun. I’ve been feeling like something is coming to sneak up on me too, but I just keep ignoring it. In the back of my mind I just know that it’s going to catch up with me this weekend and probably floor me too. Ugh.
Love the fetchings, that yarn is a great colorway!
Hope you feel better soon and that you have a good Thanksgiving and nice weekend away!
hope you feel better soon! at least soon enough to enjoy your thanksgiving turkey! fetching is beautiful in that colorway!
If you send me some Orchid I can knit something up pronto!
Knitty Gritty! How exciting!!!
Rest up, feel better, have fun. I’m so happy for you.
Feel better and enjoy your getaway! Your Fetching are lovely–kudos to Cookie!
My brain is behaving oddly today…I translated the sentence about TV and 10 lbs as:
“SITTING AND WATCHING TV adds 10 lbs”
…not that being ON TV adds 10 lbs.
hahaha
Which might explain the obvious width of my ass even though it’s never seen the big screen.
Feel better soon.
No running when you are sick, that’s your friendly nurses advice. Love the gloves and the colorway.
Got my indie swag today - LOVE it!!! Those fetching gloves look amazing. I love teh color. Restup and get better soon.
I mean - the swag club stuff….my brain isn’t working.
Hey Scout, if you’re short on time, I can knit a pair of socks for you in that colorway. I could do jaywalkers or whatever. I’d be glad to do it for you. Do you have any in your store?
LM
Hope you feel better and congrats on Knitty Gritty - I don’t get DIY so I have been trying to figure out today if I can download the shows somehow - I’ll work on that:) What weight of yarn are those fetching mitts? I’m on a bit of a Fetching run for Christmas gifts and love, love yours!
Fabulous mitts! And get well soon. No being sick on Turkey Day allowed.
Fetching mitts are awesome! Very lovely. I hope you have a peaceful Thanksgiving and feel better!
I agree that you should not run while you are sick! Your body needs to have energy to fight the germs! Perhaps a walk to give you a bit of energy if you are up to it. And I also read the “tv adds 10 pounds as the sitting and watching it!! I am looking forward to your show about dyeing yarn. I do not have a yen to spin… but dyeing I might like to try!
Those are awesome! And I love the colorway. Feel better soon!
Hope you’re feeling better… Cookie’s outdone herself - those are great!! Hmm, maybe I can get someone to tape the show for me…
Well, that totally rocks that you’ll be on Knitty Gritty. Looking forward to that — to seeing how you dye yarn, to seeing all the FO’s from your yarn. To hearing what you sound like!
Way cool! I think after it airs you’ll need to hire some help, though, with all the business it’ll bring you.
Love those fetchings!! Great colorway for them!
