I’ve Been Cured

nailsManicured that is. I was a good girl and listened to everyone and got one. I decided against getting the fake nails though. I think I’m just going to stick with the basics since I can barely handle having polish on my nails. Five minutes after I left the salon I already put a dent in one nail when I tried to get my cellphone. It’s actually stayed on suprisingly well throughout an entire afternoon of dyeing. My plan is to buy the nail-polish (purple of course!) and get it done the day before I leave and I should hopefully be able to keep them from getting too messed up in 48 hours. However, if you know me, I’ll be applying it multiple times before the taping of the show. Do you know that my hands are what have me the most stressed out? Not being on TV. Nope. How my hands will look. I am so hard on my hands and no matter what I do, I always have nicks and cuts. Someone told me that’s a sign of being an Aries? Has anyone else heard that? I’ve really been good about not biting my cuticles but still keep getting cuts all over my fingers.

I was able to get a lot dyed over the past few days which always makes me feel better. My board of custom orders looks much less intimidating than it did yesterday morning. I’m still taking custom orders and getting them out in about 1-2 weeks if there is anything you’d like. You know the drill, just e-mail me and let me know. I’m just happy that I have two full weeks until I leave to go do the show and the kids are in school that whole time. I desperately need that time to get caught up with everything I need to do. fitted knitsMy goal is to get the Indie Swag for December dyed before I leave. (notice how I said dyed. Not MAILED.) Speaking of December swag, I’m going to spoil it just a little bit by telling you that the colorway is designed by Stefanie of Glampyre Knits. She’s going to be on Knitty Gritty too and has this beautiful new book that’s yet to be released. You also get a super-cool pattern she designed exclusively for the club as well as the most adorable matching stitch markers from good to be girl! So there. It’s my club and I’m allowed to do whatever I want right? But ohhhhh the colorway is awesome. That’s all I’ll say. If you want to see the November swag you can check out Knitty Otter’s great picture. I had a lot of fun with this colorway and even though they are not usually colors I normally like, I’m in love with how they all look together in this colorway. Vermillion is my new favorite color. Okay. I’m determined to eat dinner before 8:00pm tonight. G’night my friends.

Scout - my hands are usually a mess, especially during durng the winter months. I use Mary Kay Satin hands and feet products. They have a cleanser/exfolliant, a night time moisturizer and a daily Moisturizer. If I use those regularly. My hands stay pretty nice. I have the fakey nailsfind them pretty easy to maintain (when I get time to get to the salon). Additional advantage….the nail polish sticks better to the fake nails than to my real ones.

Now for the important stuff. Pedicures! Pedis rock! I even have my DH addicted to them.

Your hands look great! Cuts, bruises, spots, scars, callouses, wrinkles, broken nails, etc. are all signs of someone who does something with their hands other than nothing…be proud of all that they show.

I had never heard that it was an Aries thing — but it sure explains a lot about the state of my hands too! I think your nails look great, a manicure is one of my favourite ways to treat my scarred, hacked up hands too. Good luck with the show!

Your hands look great! Can you avoid using knives the week before the taping, just in case? ;^)

My mum’s an aries and although i’d not heard about
the hand thing before, when I think about it she
often has cuts on her hands and they get really dry
for no real reason - its like she has to manually
    wash-up like me.

Your hands will look fine. =D Those cuts and things give character! I have tons of scars on my hands from cats/mosquitos/clumsiness/etc, and I think they’re charming. I just might get the boyfriend to tape you for me. Yay!

My husband’s an Aries and his hands always look like someone has run them over with a truck. Good luck on the show.

Your hands are beautiful, dawling. :D

Fake nails are a freaky no no for the close ups. You did well by avoiding that.

I can’t wait to get the December Swag! *happy dance*

I can’t wait to knit with the November yarn. It’s crazy beautiful.

Love the nails. Until I can get mine to stop breaking, I’ll not be able to enjoy a manicure.

As for the Indie Swag Spoiler for December’s package… EVIL EVIL WOMAN! BAD SCOUT! LOL!

As it is my mail carrier drops packages off for me and runs. Ah well.

Congrats on the Knitty Gritty! The makeup artist and director will probably tell you classic colors, French manicure or clear so your fingers won’t be distracting. It’s worth a shot to bring your purple though - explain that it’s your signature color and there’s a chance it could be allowed. :)

Not trying to pee in your Wheaties, just letting you know they may say no to it.

oh, yeah, it’s definitely an Aries thing. It’s cuz we’re always running around starting eight things at once without thought to what it will take, or cost, or … it’s a recipe for cuts and bruises of all kinds, esp. on whatever you lead with (head? hands? heart?). ;-)
