First I want to share this bit of Eye Candy with you a little bit early. The other day T. called me on his way home and said, “You had better get out there and take a picture of the Sandias!” And this is what I found.

Isn’t that amazing? There are a few more here. When I look at it now it almost looks like it couldn’t possibly be real. It is though. It still floors me that I can see this from my driveway.
Have I told you that the entire school district cancelled all three days of school this week? Uh huh. That means my kids have been home for three weeks. THREE! This, along with below 20′ weather and one and a half feet of snow has completely shut down my dyeing. I think I might be able to do a bunch tomorrow. I have to. It stresses me out to fall behind. Oh great. T just got home and told me it’s supposed to snow the next few days…… Anyway, I’ve had tons of fun with my kids this week doing things we don’t get to do often like go to the Museum of Natural History, saw the new Imax movie - The Mystery of the Nile and today topped it off with seeing Happy Feet. I highly recommend both movies. Although I would not take little kids to see Happy Feet! It was freaking scary in some parts!! There was a kid behind us who was getting totally freaked out.
We now have over 220 people signed up over at Runagogo! That’s in less than 24 hours of starting the blog. We also added Stephen of hizKNITS to help with the blog too. As Rachael said, “He’s our official cheerleader, the rah-rah in the Gogo Grrls.” Did you know you don’t have to run the 100 miles? Come over and check it out. I pretty close to deciding what my reward will be. I think I will buy the yarn to make Poppy. No guilt. I also whipped up an easy cozy for my Nike+ thing. It’s similar to what Rachael did but seeing as I don’t know how to do a toe up sock, I made up another way to get this thing attached to my shoe. See?

If anyone wants the details I’d be more than happy to share. I was giggling thinking this could be counted as my 3rd FO in just a few days….. It really was easy. Now I just have to calibrate it tomorrow when I’m at the gym because it didn’t work properly yesterday when I ran. I was so excited to just use it I didn’t read the directions. I knew something was wrong when it was a whole mile off!
Finally, please check out what is going on with the Kim Family Benefit. “An auction of fine art + craft to benefit the family of James Kim organized by sisters Lisa Congdon and Stephanie Barnes and their mother Gerrie Congdon.
100% of the auction proceeds will go to the The James Kim Memorial Fund. Auction items from the artists listed below will be available for bid starting January 3, 2007on eBay. There will be a link to the eBay listing for each item from this site starting the morning of January 3. Bidding ends January 7th. Thank you for visiting and bidding! ” They ran into some trouble today but it looks like it should be all set soon. Keep an eye on the blog to know when it’s back up. As Stephen said, “Prices are high, but it’s for a cause that’s more than worthy. It’s touched many people in my life personally who are friends with the family. If you have the means, bid generously. If not, please support the two stores the Kim’s opened in San Francisco, Doe in the Lower Haight and Church Street Apothecary in Noe Valley.”

Thanks for posting about the auction!
And, fyi, my C LOVED your photos.
I think I saw that same moonrise! I was driving and didn’t have my camera anyway… So glad you caught it! What a great picture.
I miss the mountains, too! There are no sunsets to even touch those in NM here in CT.
Fabulous photo!

Thanks for sharing the pic, it’s absolutely stunning. I miss mountains.
I got the yarn for Poppy for Christmas but can’t find a knit along and I think it should have one. Let me know if you see one anywhere.
Gorgeous!
Fabulous picture…it almost looks like something from a sci-fi movie! You seem to be piling up all our snow before it ever gets here. That’s awfully nice of you!
Gorgeous picture! We’re supposed to get snow starting later tonight and all day tomorrow too…..AAARGHHHH!!!!!
*sniff sniff* why did I move from Az???? Gorgeous shot!
Wow, that picture is incredible!! Much better scenery than I see with my weird neighbors - LOL. Thanks for the 100 Miles reminder - I keep meaning to go sign up and keep forgetting. So far I’ve walked 6.5 miles this week. It’s a start!
We tried to catch a photo of the moon here but it didn’t work out. Funny that you all are getting so much snow and we are getting none!hmmmm
What a shot! Seems this year is shaping up to be a doozy!
gorgeous photo OMG! thanks for posting it!
Awesome photo!
That is quite an amazing photo! Yay, another finished knit! Going to
check out what Poppy looks like.
Crapula! That is quite the photo! It looks so unreal!
As to frogging.. looks good on you! And I could reduce that pile of “socks that rock” yarn into several wicked scarves or shawls in no time flat. Woven of course. Knitting them would take me a century.
oooohhh pretty :o)
That picture is amazing. The snow will go away but that view will be there forever!
Oh, I wish I could run–I used to run at least 35 miles a week. (Hip problems abound; must see a doc).
Don’t worry about the dyeing. When I find I haven’t knitted for awhile, and when I finally start back up again, it’s all a frenzy and then I’ve done more than I could ever imagine. (hugs to you, too.)
