As I got Superboy ready for school this morning, I grabbed his backpack and saw he still had his library books in it from Friday. A big, “Awwwww!” came out of my mouth when I saw the books he chose. Now remember, this kid is eight years old.

How awesome is that? Out of any books in the library, my kid brings home the crafty ones. Oh how I love that kid. I don’t know many eight year olds, let alone eight year old boys who would check out craft books from the library. I’ll have to let you know if there are some cool projects in either of them.
Right in line with things that make me proud, have you seen the amazing posts by Norma and Gale about their day on Friday? Grab a tissue and go read this post and then go here and read Gale’s post and see her pictures. This one below is my favorite. When I look at Castava (one of the OFA students) with her head on Norma’s shoulder it brings tears to my eyes . It makes me miss my mom. Norma and Gale? Thank you both for working so tirelessly on this project. Seriously. This picture alone will stay with me forever. As long as the Red Scarf Project goes on, I promise to knit a scarf every year for it. You have my word. To each and every one of you who knit a Red Scarf? Be proud. Look what we’ve all done.

Gale is one hell of a photographer and one hell of a person. She is the one who pulled all this together, and we had such a wonderful day. My hubby was sooo glad he went and took it all in,too. It was really the BEST.
And speaking of the best, your superboy - what a kid! Awesome!
I’m impressed with the craft books, but I’m bowled over by the one on recycling. Crafting and socially conscious. How wonderful!
Aw, go Superboy!! I, of course, am quite intrigued by Cat Crafts.
yay for Super Boy!
That picture is wonderful. I am so in on Red Scarf for next year!
And awww for Super Boy. You are definitely raising him right - a little artist in the making.
You’re killing me here. If Superboy ever comes to the NY metro area, we MUST get him together with my noah, who loves doing anything crafty: knitting, sewing, origami, applique — you name it, he’ll do it. And Norma? Well, there are no words. She’s amazing.
We must get Superboy together with Noah. They can craft together until the cows come howme. Norma is the best, pure and simple.
Norma is totally freaking cute, I can confirm that!

Great library books! I love seeing what my 5 year old picks out each time we visit the library.
She’s taken to looking for at least one book she thinks I’ll get a kick out of.
