And the PrepSTAR is….

Wow you guys made this hard! There were so many fantastic outfits and limericks that Bev, Pippi and I couldn’t just pick one winner. We each chose our top three favorites, I wrote them down and Supergirl picked the winner. Since there were so many from which to choose, we decided to have a second and third place winner too. Drumroll please? The winner of the Pretty in Pink, Project Spectrum Contest is…….

Carole!

Did everyone see her post yesterday? Oh my goodness. She totally rocks for taking the time to do that. And the pictures. Hee-lar-ree-ous!!! My favorite one is the last one. Or maybe the one with the beer? I have your address and the skein of Prepster will go out today. Yay!

The second place prize goes to Pamela. If you haven’t read her Limericks go do it now. They are all great. This one was my favorite.

Silence your inner fat-hater,
and consider that bigger is greater!
Green, yellow and pink
are prettiest, I think,
on an ass that’s as big as a freighter.

This one in particular was inspired by the Limerick posted by Norma where she was able to fit in, “were wide-assed like freighters” at the end of her Limerick. She gets an honorable mention for that one. Pamela, you will get a little fiber love from PippiKneesocks herself. Email me your address and I’ll get it to her. You really outdid yourself. Thank you for making us laugh.

And the third place prize will receive a little something from Bev. It goes to Erin! Did you all see the pictures she posts? The girl was the president of the knitting club in high school! How awesome is that!? She was also the captain of the math club. I have your info Erin so I’ll pass it along to Bev.

That was fun. Thank you all for playing. The past few days have been crazy-busy and reading everyone’s comments has been highly entertaining.

I wanted to just give you a little shop update because I have a few new things in as well as having everything else completely stocked. (Even ALL sizes of GoKnit Pouches!) First up are the coolest keychains around. John, of Yarn Ball Boogie made these rockin’ silver yarnball keychains. I have been getting tons of compliments on mine wherever I go.

I’m also completely in love with this new stationery I just put up this morning from my talented graphic designer Cynthia. There are 4 different sets I have for starter and she is working on some other ones as well. (I told her we need guys!) I have a Knit Diva, Crochet Diva and a mixed set that includes a Stitch Diva. I am the first person to get these. Each set includes four cards and envelopes.

I have 4 new braids of roving from PippiKneesocks. They are ALL Springtime Choco Bird. Can you say, tencel choco? YUM! I also marked down the Modern Yarn T-Shirts. I think I remembered to tell you about everything. I hope you love the new things and I’m always looking for the next, newest, and coolest swag for all of you to get in the shop. These latest additions make me happy because I love supporting my Indie friends more than anything.

Those who think preppy means ’sterile,’
make such mistakes at their peril.
    What gal hasn’t yearned
    for a collar upturned
with the same stylish spunk as our Carole?

When I first saw your post I thought, “Swell!
    The limerick’s a form I do well.”
    But while seeking a rhyme,
    I lost track of time,
Next thing I know I’m SOL.

Just as well, really, since there’s no way I could have held a candle to Carole. Congrats to all winners!

    OMG! I cannot believe it!
Who’d ever have thought to conceive it?
    For once uniforms,
    those inforced dressing norms,
came through to help me achieve it!

Love that limerick! Such a fun contest. I can’t wait to go see Carole’s post. Jeepers, I snooze on my blog reading for a few days and look what I miss!
I am happy to say I grabbed the last bit of the roving! Made my day! :)

Carole’s pics made me go find old pics and scan them! I missed your contest (that’s ok), but thought you might get a kick out of some of the old pics. I realized as I was scanning them, not so preppy, but kind of. The pink yarn you gave is LOVELY! That yarn ball key chain is great. I am wondering if it has any weight to it and could it be used as a self-defense weapon? Or would you just hold it up and say, don’t mess with me I’m a knitter and I’m nuts!
