I might be a bit quiet this week….
because I got a new toy. It can do things like this.
The camera I’ve used for the past two years was a hand-me-down from my mother-in-law. I think it’s about 5 years old. It’s done a pretty good job but I simply felt like I had finally outgrown it. A friend of mine who knows a lot about cameras helped me pick out my new camera this weekend. I got the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi. And holy crap. I’m in love. It even makes cute noises when it takes pictures. However, I have so much to learn it’s not even funny. I think the manual weighs 10lbs. I mean look at what it can do.

Perplexed Superkids
Now that the Indie Swag is out the door I can catch up on all other yarn orders. I will be dyeing all day tomorrow which should get me closer to that goal. Just knowing I can take amazing pictures of they yarn once it’s dry is such motivation. Plus T. unexpectedly has the day off which will really help. I’ll leave you with one more. Supergirl learned a new trick yesterday.
Can you tell how much fun I’m having?

Awesome! Congratulations on your new camera…
I’m about to breakdown and buy that camera. Did you get yours through Amazon or locally? I’ve been debating between a new wheel and a new camera but I’m leaning heavily towards the new camera.
What great shots! I have the Rebel XT and love it! Jealous of your XTi though!
Oh, I’ve been lusting after that camera! Very jealous.
And such great photos you’re turning out already. Go, Supergirl!
Oh, we know how much fun you’re having! That camera was way out of our price range, but we’re having fun with our new Kodak just the same.
I priced and read reviews for months and when i found it for under $200, how could one go wrong? 7.1 MegaPixels and a 10x Zoom for *just* under $200 AND a free 512 MB memory card…it was so MINE!
LOL!!
Have fun!
Ohh, good! It’s only fair that you get some fun new toy after shipping fun new toys out to eager little knitty children all over. The swag was splenderific!! Enjoy yourself - looking forward to seeing and envying all the beautiful photos.
Very jealous! ;—)
Happy snapping!
What fabulous pictures - the perplexed Superkids picture is brilliant!

Sweet camera. Have fun learning the ins and outs of your new toy.
Great pictures! That’s an awesome camera - have fun playing with it!
Woo Hoo!
Will you be able to put down long enough to dye yarn?
I am sooooooooooo jealous. I have been wanting that exact camera for some time! Have fun. And feel pity for those of us who DON’T have the fab camera! =)
Uh-oh…there goes Scout! That camera takes awesome pictures. So cool that you got that bubble photo. My daughter can’t wait to chew gum just so she can learn to blow bubbles.
Wow. You are TAN. (Come to think of it, I think I may have left that as a comment about a year ago!)
awesome! Congratulations
Yea for Supergirl! She’s such a big Supergirl!!! (My Diva just turned six,
and she’s not yet able to blow bubbles.)
Congrats on your snazzy camera purchase!
Cheers,
Deb in Atlanta
Love the pirate peep/amazed kids shot!
everyone i know is getting some version of a rebel and it makes me have weird baby-lust.
The manual weighs 10 lbs? Seriously? Mine came with a teeny weeny one. Mine doesn’t make cute noises either. Then again, mine’s just an XT. I’m so deprived.
Congrats! I got a Nikon D50 about 2 years ago and it was so much fun to try out all of the new functions!
Wow what a great new toy!!!! And I’m so excited for SuperGirl. E’s been working on her bubbles to no avail so far, but she keeps trying!
Love your new toy! Have fun!
New toys are so much fun. As is blowing bubbles!
Congrats! You are taking magnificent pics with it. I love the perplexed pic. Lovely!
Incredible pictures.
I love that you are capturing superkids’ emotion.
It will be fun to see new pictures of your yarn.

Go head girl, go head, get down.
OOOH I’m jealous! I love the bubble shot.
Looks like Supergrrl is having fun, too! Good shots!
You took great pictures with the old one, I bet your pictures will be awesome.
It’s not what the camera can do for you, it’s what you can do with your camera! It’s a powerful thing!
Plus, it’s just fun to take pictures.
Excellent! The pictures look fabulous.
Ray got a Digital Rebel a long time ago when they first came out, and he really loves it. I’ve been watching your pics on Flickr the last couple of days and I can tell how much fun you’re having.
Nice! Good for you:)
it takes awesome photos, all the better to see your swag with! Supergirl looks like you.
Awesome - congrats! My work bought one of those but I haven’t had much “time” with it yet, my bossactually will take pics now… go figure!
Awesome new photo taking device-age, these images are Great, Scout,
thanks for sharing!
Did you have to use a macro lens to get those super close-up shots?? I’m looking for a new camera myself, as my current digital camera is 8 years old and plugs into a serial port! =) I’ve been looking at the one you got as well as the Olympus E-500 EVOLT. Not sure which to get. Aaaargghh!
Whoo-hoo! New camera! Those pansy’s look like they’d make a cool new colorway. (at least, I think they’re pansy’s…)
Ang

I just bought the Rebel XT a month ago and I cant get over the pictures I can take with it. Canon has a great tutorial on their website at http://www.canon.com which I would highly recommend. It helped me out a lot. Have fun!
