Okay! Fine! I’ll do it.

Roughly 1 million people tagged me to do this meme. Just so you know? I don’t normally do them. So don’t take it personally if you tag me and I don’t do one. You’re much better off picking someone more reliable. I’m a bad meme-friend! So here goes. The 7 random facts about me meme.

1. When I was 15 I crashed in a downhill ski race and got part of a tree branch stuck in my leg. I ended up needing stitches inside and on the outside of my left leg and it left my leg pretty ugly looking. It’s been over 20 years and it still looks horrible.

2. I rarely wear shoes with heels. I don’t mean heels as in vertically, I mean around the actual heel. I pretty much live in flip-flops, slip-on sneakers and clogs. See? I just hate shoes. I’m usually holding 25 things in my hands/arms and I don’t need to be bothered by messing with shoes.

3. I have some major OCD tendencies. I mostly have a bedtime ritual and if I don’t do everything in a certain order it just makes me feel…..not right.

4. I weighed 75lbs more than I do right now when I gave birth to Supergirl. Yep. That’s a LOT.

5. One of my grandfather’s closest friends is Julius Erving. (Dr. J.) I’ve met him numerous times and have even played golf with him. He’s so sweet.

6. I don’t drink coffee. I hate the taste of it. I only drink espresso. I add a teeny bit of raw sugar and some silk creamer. Every morning I must have that drink.

7. I am not a picky eater but I absolutely detest raisins, applesauce and coconut. BARF!

And I tag….. not a single person! Do it if you want.

I wanted to let you know that I just got in an order of GoKnit Pouches. I have every single color in stock except medium-red. Otherwise it’s the most stocked I’ve been in months. As you all know, they go really fast. If you don’t have one by now you really should get one. Or two. Or three. Ask anyone! I love keeping my projects in their own bags so I can just grab a bag when I’m going somewhere. They really do rock. Just remember the USPS prices have gone up too. I also found out that I should have the Haiku Bags back in the shop mid-June. I’ve already placed my order and as soon as they get them, they’ll ship them out. You need to surf around the shop as it’s really stocked and there are a few new things in as well!

Okay gang. I will leave you with a picture. Here is Supergirl on her way to school yesterday. It almost fits her. I totally lost it when I said goodbye to the director of the school. Good thing I had on my sunglasses so she couldn’t see the tears in my eyes!

My shoes don’t have heels, either. It’s just yucky.

My daughter has those very same Crocs. She has a Tinkerbell on the left foot and Mickey mouse stuck on the right.

Mostly my shoes are clog style, too. The irony is that I spend all day telling people they need to wear shoes with a heel last so they don’t need to work at keeping their shoes on their feet! (home care Physical Therapist working mostly with little old ladies)

I’m such a freak, because I want to see what your leg looks like. :-O

I thinks scars are kind of like trophies. They generally serve as a reminder of our mortality, and how fragile life is. My biggest is one that runs down my belly, from about the bottom of my sternum all the way down. A lot like this, except mine is a little longer:

(Quick answer: Bad car accident, I was bleeding and they had to find out where it was coming from.)

I love today’s and yesterday’s pictures of Supergirl. We’re saying goodbye to our preschool this year, too, but in our case it’s a bit more ominous … “we’ll be baaaaaaaaaaack”.

And as for shoes … it’s been so long since I spent regular time in heels that I’ve lost the ability to wear them. Comforta ll the way.

Aww, sentimental Mama Scout. Supergirl is so cute and the pic from yesterday was hilarious. The backpack looked bigger than her! ;)

Ooooooh. I’m sooooooooooo glad I know you detest those foods. Seriously. So when I visit, nothing like “Hey Scout- you wanna make a raisin bundt cake made with applesauce garnished with coconut?”" will NEVER come out of my mouth!

My pet peeve is people who tell me, “You have to try these…I promise, you can’t taste the coconut at all…”

If I can taste coconut in *someone else’s* food from all the way across the room, the chances are very, very good that these whatevertheyares sullied by coconut will NEVER pass my lips without me wanting to wash my mouth out for the next week. No joke. Makes my hair stand on end and my teeth itch.

I met Dr. J on Thanksgiving in K Mart one year. Seemed to be a nice guy. I was only about 12 years old and very seriously star struck.

I hate heels too. I never got that whole “pain for style/beauty” thing. Heels are just plain uncomfortable and not very practical … especially when toting two kids and diaper bag and knitting bag, etc around with me. My college roommate used to walk to campus in high heels and come home with huge blisters on her feet. I thought she was crazy but then she would put bandaids on and do it again the next day so I KNEW she was crazy. She said it was more important to be fashionable than comfortable. Yikes!
