Scout's Knitted Swag

Two For Sale!

John helped me dye today and we had a blast. The only problem is that I was slightly distracted and completely dyed the wrong colorway on one of my orders. But this good news for one of you as I have one skein of 300 yards of DK weight wool-silk ZuluKnitty for sale! It’s $32.00 plus shipping. The first person to comment and pay gets it. I don’t have any more of this right now and don’t dye a lot of it so it’s a pretty special skein. It’s pretty huh? SOLD!

We also messed around with some colors and John picked these out for a new colorway called Pansy. He was going for something else but we agreed that it looked exactly like pansies so there you have it. The colors are yellow, deep purple & dark emerald.

It’s 400 yards of 100% superwash merino for $25.00 plus shipping. The first one evah! Same thing as above. First one to comment and pay gets it mailed out tomorrow. It really was supposed to be called “Snake Bite” but well, it doesn’t really say that does it? SOLD!

We’ve had so much fun already and even though I was worried John would be bored while I worked but he was a fantastic assistant. See?!

john

I had to tell him that wasn’t really the proper way to dye yarn. But y’all know John. He doesn’t like to follow directions very well! But we still love him lots right? HAA!

He’s Coming! He’s Coming!

John is coming TOMORROW people! I can’t tell you how excited I am. Plus, my family won’t have to wear the Travleing Tutu anymore and I think they’ll be pretty happy about it. I mean, look what T. did for me this weekend.

tutu

Is he a good sport or what? Not only did he do this, he allowed the web-designer of the New Mexico Cycling website put it up there too. Right now T. is actually #1 in the state road series so it’s pretty damn funny to have that up there. All of his cycling buddies called and emailed him yesterday asking him what the HELL he was doing. But the funniest thing? That picture made it to the front page of Explore on Flickr. Now that really made me laugh. T. will forever be known as the tutu-bike racer.

Stay tuned for all kinds of craziness from John and me………. (and Carole too!)

Eye Candy & Saturday Sky

People? I’ve got nothing. I’ve been busy with work/kids/life so I’m throwing this all into one post. Carole came to help with the kids today while T. and I went to a soccer class since we’re the kids’ assistant coaches this year. Afterwards we got the girls to take a few shots in the Traveling Tutu. What!? You don’t know about the Traveling Tutu? It’s all the rage.

tutu

I can’t even put into words how much I adore this picture. You need to go through and see some of the other ones I’ve taken so far. They are pretty funny. This Friday Carole and I are getting our new tattoos and promise to wear the tutu for parts of that as well. Yes. We are nuts. It’s okay. We freely admit it.

And the Winner Is?

Schrodinger!
(Schrodinger Knits)
Congratulations! Get on over to the gallery and let me know which colorway you would like and I will dye it for you. And a big thank you to every single person that donated. We raised over, are you ready? Over $1500.00 for Ravelry! That’s like 4500 packages of Ramen people! All kidding aside it will majorly help in paying off the servers. When you have over 8,000 members already with a trillion and one projects you need a lot of server space. You know? So we done good people. Every dollar helps. Casey & Jess wanted to thank you too.
Jess and I are blown away by everyone’s generosity and support! These donations really make a big difference - we’re working towards supporting ourselves but we aren’t there yet. Thank you so much everyone! (and big thanks to Scout and everyone else who made us put up the donation button in the first place!)

One other piece of news. I recorded an interview/episode with Miss Violet yesterday so check the Lime & Violet blog for when that goes up. It will be highly entertaining. Seriously. I’ve already threatened her to edit out a bunch of stuff so we’ll see how well she listens…..ha!!! If you haven’t caught my other interview on Sticks & String with David Reidy go download it. It was fun to finally talk with him after months of us trying to figure out how to make it work with our 14 hour time difference. (he lives in Australia)Kids need to go to school. I’m out! Thanks again to all the donations to Ravelry!

Contest is over! Stay Tuned for the winner!

First of all, school started this week. I now, officially have two kids in elementary school. Here is a little collage of the week. You can see Supergirl with Carole’s Viv. They had the best day ever yesterday.

school

When I asked Supergirl how her day was, she held up both hands in the *rock on* sign and yelled, “IT ROCKED!” OKay then!

Next up. Have you donated to Ravelry? Huh? If you are a member and haven’t donated what in the world are you waiting for? Hellloooooo! Did you know that Jess and Casey BOTH quit their jobs to work on this? Obviously once it gets out of beta and they have advertisers they won’t need donations like this, but I just wanted to do something for them if I could. I told them the Jewish mama in me worries about them living on Ramen noodles and I would ask everyone to donate if they haven’t already donated. Pretty please with Ramen on top do it? For every person who donates $5.00 I will put your name into a hat and will pick one to win a skein of yarn of your choice from the gallery. For each $5.00 you put in I will add your name in again! Let’s say you have until Sunday night at 8:00pm to do this. (you can email me at scoutjatscoutjdotcom and let me know the amount if you don’t want to post it here too. I will keep a list. I will ask Jess/andor/Casey to help me verify donations too. I mean look at their baby Bob. They need to feed him too! Click the picture to go donate. I’ll wait for you to come back.

bob

Okay done?! Scooby snack for you! Even if it’s just a dollar it will help. I think that’s like 3 packages of Ramen!!! But seriously, if you are a member you know how amazing this place is. Please go support them. Thank you! I love you! Jess and Casey thank you too. Oh yeah, so does Bob! (Note - this was completely my idea and the only involvement Jess and Casey had was in giving me the go ahead to do it!)

A few of you have nominated me for a Rockin’ Blogger award so I’m going to finally be a good girl and pick my 5. Since I’m not really a girl, (too old!) I hope it’s okay that I grabbed one of these other ones from Oh, The Joys because I have to say I liked hers better than the original one because it can be for a guy too. So here are my 5. If I pick you, you’re tagged.

Okay, let’s play a game….

tell me what’s up with you? There is no WAY I will be able to catch up on a week of Bloglines. So do me a favor? Either just leave a comment telling me something or link me to a post of yours that tells me about what’s been up with you. Will you all do that please? This way, I can catch up with you and know what’s going on in your life. I want it all. The good, bad, ugly, FO’s, birthdays, anniversaries…..you name it. I am going to clear Bloglines and start all over. OKay?

For me? Look! I got some knitting done. Just a little but hey, it’s something. I still totally love this Chevron Scarf pattern.

The other super exciting news is that John/Yarn Ball Boogie is coming to see me! He booked his tickets this morning and comes in two weeks. We are so damn excited to hang out and get into all kinds of trouble. He has become one of my best friends over the past months and I can not wait to meet him in person. I mean, we talk on the phone almost daily, but haven’t met yet! YET! He is also going to be here when Carole and I get new tattoos. He’s drawing mine so it will be so cool to have him there when I get it! YAY!

So tell me…..what’s up with you!?!?

Home - Safe and Sound

We’re home. As much fun as we had I’m so happy to be home. One of the things I missed the most was this:

sunset

I mean seriously. I liked the beach but sunsets and big skies are more my thing. Much less sand is involved. I took a ton of pictures I hope to get up on Flickr soon. If you click the picture it will take you to my Flickr stream where you can see a few of the ones I was able to get up while there.
I’ll be updating Scout’s Swag with a bunch of new stuff tomorrow and shipping orders out on Monday. I am also going to take yarn orders again after August 15th! Yay! Indie Swag Goes out the last week of this month too. Dang. I need to get back into the swing of things huh? Wait. I need sleep first……

Happy Birthday….

to my girl Carole/strangelittlemama!

meandc

I love you!

Will all my friends wish her a Happy Birthday please?

Thank you!

I’m Outta Here!

Leaving tomorrow to go on vacation! The shop will remain open but nothing will be shipped until I get back. I’ve already ordered another batch of Haiku Bags and there are still some up in the shop. The Namaste Messenger Bags are also reordered as well.

Also, My buddy John is having a stash sale tomorrow. And oh my goodness you don’t want to miss it. He has the GOOD stuff. Malabrigo, Manos cashmere….. you name it. Check it out for sure!

Here’s my eye candy for the day. I really love this picture. We don’t get a ton of rain and sometimes it’s fun to just sit and look out and watch the storm.

Okay, I have got to start packing! ACK! Have a good week everyone!
