(I posted this yesterday over at Flickr but wanted to share this with you here too since it’s a pretty big deal to me!)
This picture was taken right before I left on Wednesday morning for my first paid photography shoot. Yeah I know. Crazy huh? The rehabilitation center where T. works, hired me to do their corporate headshots and CEO - group picture to put up on their website. I didn’t want to talk about it beforehand because needless to say, I was slightly freaked out. You know, one of those situations where you go from thinking, “Oh I can do this no problem!” to “Holy shit what did I get myself into!?” Thank you so much to the few of you who have held my hand through the past week. Without you there’s no way I could have done it.
The shoot is done and I delivered the group prints yesterday morning as they asked to have that rushed to them. (They LOVED the shot) I now just have to work on processing the headshots. I’m really proud of myself and the shots I took. Not bad for someone who is only playing *photographer*. They have also hired me to come and shoot the facility and and do some more group shots of the therapy and nursing team.
And this bag was a present to myself. I almost got a Crumpler but my friend Dottie pointed me towards these jill-e bags that are gorgeous. I figured with the yarn dyeing class I taught last week and this photo shoot, I deserved to use something other than the salad bowl to keep my photography stuff in. Yes, for 6 months the salad bowl has been my camera bag.
So yeah, yesterday was a pretty big day for me. And for the millionth time? I just want to thank all of your for your constant support of me. Without it, I would never have the confidence to go out and do something like I did this week. Truly. Every single comment and email from you means so much to me. It just makes me feel like I’m not doing this all alone when I know I have my big cheer-leading squad behind everything I do. You know y’all are my family. So thank you.
Okay. Done with the mush. Now go out and have a great weekend ya hear?
