I Need Some Swag Input!

I really hope I can get some good feedback from all of you out there. I have a few questions. In preparation of the holiday season I’m stocking the shop with a few new items. The first thing comes in the the form of a new yarn. I recently dyed a few skeins of this yarn with sterling silver in it. It’s a blend of superwash merino, nylon and sterling silver! I am so, not, a novelty yarn girl. But trust me. This yarn is gorgeous. I am able to get it but it’s definitely more expensive than my base superwash. But look at it. It’s so pretty! The cost is twice as much as my base yarn but the retail price would be $36.00. It’s a teeny bit heavier than a fingering weight and has 420 yards per skein. So let me know what you think. If it seems that a lot of you would want this. I will order it. It’s definitely something I would use. It takes the dyes beautifully. I’m also getting a new superwash nylon sock yarn and worsted weight superwash from them too. I really liked it when I dyed it!

me and catThe next item I’m want to carry are Cat Bordhi’s books. (hopefully signed ones!) I think Cat is super-fabulous and her books are amazing. I had so much fun meeting her when we both did our Knitty Gritty shows and I would love, more than anything, to support her and her talents. Her new book, New Pathways For Sock Knitters, is amazing. I mean, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. She is a genius. If you haven’t seen her new book you absolutely have to get it. I’m not sure which other ones I’d carry but most definitely this one.

pathways

New Pathways to Sock Knitters will soon be in the shop and I can’t wait! Which other ones would you like me to carry? Socks Soar on Two Circs, and both of the the Treasury of Magical Knitting books are fantastic too. So help me out my peeps. I like to sell the things you all love the most so please let me know what you think. I will order them right away and hope to have them right away for Holiday shopping! Also, I am always on the lookout for cool new swag for the shop. Don’t ever hesitate to drop me an email if you see something you think would do well in the shop. I love hearing from my friends and customers. If it wasn’t for one customer I would have never heard of the Haiku Bags. And now they are featured in one of the big knitting magazines as a great knitting bag! Ohhhhh that reminds me. Within the next few weeks I will be getting in two of the newest Haiku Bags. The Grab Bags are sooooo cute! Check them out. They will retail for $36.00. I am totally buying one for myself.

I think that covers it for now. I have been straight out with company, photography jobs, kids home for five days in a row and a trillion other things. This weekend I am in a soccer tournament and next week I’m having almost 20 people here for Thanksgiving. I don’t see an end in sight. But it’s okay. I’d rather be busy than bored so I guess it’s all cool. There is still time to get yarn orders in before Christmas too. I just dyed a bunch today so I’m feeling pretty good.

I totally love the Grab Bag. I love my Haiku bag and can’t wait until it becomes a full-fledged yarn bag. It is currently doing duty as a purse/diaper bag. I’m diggin’ the sparkly yarn too but am unfortunately not a sock knitter so the books are out for me. One day maybe though. Love it all!!!! Good luck with your super busy weeks.

Since you asked, how about bamboo, corn, or soy blend fibers? I picked up some bamboo sock yarn and love the feel, but the colors are so predictable and boring especially compared to your colorways.

I’d try the silvery sparkly yarn, too. I love me some fun, bling-y socks.

As long as the silver yarn isn’t scratchy (I’m thinking of a CTH yarn last year with shiny/platic-y scratch) I’ll def. but a skein. It’s very pretty.
I have all of Cat’s books except New Pathways so that’s the one in which I am most interested.

New Haiku bags???!!?? I am pretty low-bling, so sparkly yarn wouldn’t be my thing, but I know I would be the minority. It is unique and beautiful and will be a great addition!

I agree with E to the M, if it isn’t scratchy, I would buy some. Especially if it is that pretty purple.

ok. i’m not a frou frou yarn girl, and what I think is that I would maybe want a skein to do a chevron scarf a la Joelle Hoverson, but that might be it. But that’s just me… I love the LOOK of the yarn, I just know I wouldn’t wear it. Tons of ppl LOVE the sparkly!

I would buy yarn with silver in it. But then I am definitely part magpie and probably not normal. Actually, I have already been plotting and considering about the silver yarn.

I like the yarn and wouldn’t mind using some of this for a chevron scarf. I have also been wanting a copy
new pathways for sock knitters–signed would be even better.

    As for other books:
The Knitting Answer Book and Crochet Answer books are great. How about Shobana’s new book signed:)

Ooh, I would love to have at least 2 skeins of this in black. I think any semi-solid neutral with those shots of silver running through it would be so elegant as well as timeless.

*DROOL* Hun, in the right colorways like the ones you did in the picture this is sure to be a hit. I know I’d buy it in a heart beat. It’s gorgeous and the yardage is perfect for all sorts of projects. I’m envisioning a head wrap of some sort in it right now. So glamorous.

As for other things to carry, let me think on it and I’ll let you know if I can think of anything unique enough to qualify for your store.
