Scout’s Swag Sock Club - Round III

The news you have all been waiting for! Did you notice the name of the sock club is different? That’s because I decided for Round III to make it just a sock club BUT with a cool little twist. This time there will not be Indie Swag to go along with each exclusive colorway. As much as I’ve loved working with all of my Indie peeps it’s a lot of work for everyone involved and I need to simplify things for this year. I have a lot going on and I would rather open up a few more spots and dye some more yarn and keep it all a bit more streamlined. So what is the twist? Well, every other month for the yarn, I will randomly select one of the club members to collaborate on a colorway and name for the yarn! I think this will be really cool to work with six of you over the year to create some hot new colorways to eventually add to the gallery. I wanted to do something different than anyone else is doing and I really think this will be fun. I also really liked the idea of keeping the prices down and taking out the Indie Swag part knocks off quite a bit of money. As you can see below, I also give discounts if you sign up for 3 months or 6 months.

So the details for this round. It will be a bi-monthly sock club where you the first month of yarn will be mailed out the last week in April. (then again in June, August, October, December, February) I will do what I did last year with the lottery. It’s the most fair way for me to allow people to get the very few spots I have for my club. Right now I am going to say there are 40 spots BUT I might make it 50 depending on how many people want in.

The memberships will be offered as follows which equals 40 full spots:

(these prices do not include international shipping which will be a separate charge)

34 (6-month) subscription for $160

6 (3-month) subscription for $80

12 (1-month) subscription for $30 per month

If you want in, please only sign up for ONE spot. We will delete your name if you sign up for all three spots. Also, to clarify, if you get a 1-month subscription, you will be chosen to receive yarn in only one of the months in the club. You might be chosen for February 2009 so be prepared to wait if you choose one of those memberships! Once we close the sign-ups, the program will then randomly pick the people for the club. For current club members? If you want in again, Adam is making the program enter your name in two times so you have a better chance to get in this time. With such a small club, it’s honestly the only way I/we can think of to make it fair for everyone.

I know. You want to know when you can sign up. Monday, March 10th will be the date for the sign up. We will put it up at 6:00 MST. (8:00pm EST/5:00PST) Make sure you sign up with an email you use for Paypal as I will bill you as soon as we pick the club. We will allow sign-ups for 24 hours. And there you have it. The new Indie Swag Club will be selected. The first shipment will be mailed out in the last week of April. Once you receive your Paypal Invoice you need to pay that within 24 hours. Otherwise I will give your spot to the next randomly chosen person. I ran into problems last year with some people not paying right away and I really don’t have the time to repeatedly email people to get them to pay. I don’t mean to sound harsh but this whole thing takes a lot of time to do fairly and properly! :)

Please let me know if you have any questions at all. I know a lot of people want to get into the club and want to make sure you understand everything before you sign up! As we get closer I will give you the proper page to bookmark for when it goes live.

I need a nap after that. So who’s in for Round III!?!?!

Saturday Sky & a Shop Update!

Saw this on my run today. I like in the prettiest place. I swear!!!

Just a quick update to let you know that yesterday I received the shipment of Haiku & Namaste Bags, more Kitchener Dogtags & Sock Blocker keychains. I also got in two new colors of Jetsetter bags in Camel & Dusty Rose. They are so pretty. Look!

There have been a few bags I haven’t been able to get for a while that are all here now:
Namaste - Chocolate Messenger (I believe I got one of the last ones of these from them!)
Haiku - Chocolate Brown Calligraphy
Haiku - Chocolate Brown Bloom
Haiku - Chocolate Brown Grab bag
Haiku - Bamboo Green

There’s a ton of stuff on its way to me (tape measures/ Cat Bordhi books etc) so make sure and check back in at the store soon.

Have a great weekend!

Eye Candy Friday

more than just little chocolate eggs

I don’t eat chocolate. If you know anything about me, you know this. I just don’t really have a sweet tooth. It’s pretty out of the ordinary for me to crave chocolate. But every year, at this time of year, I buy these Cadbury Mini Eggs because they were my mother’s favorites. Ohhhhh did she love them. It’s hard to believe that in one month it will be the 15th anniversary of her death. I buy them and eat them for her.

I wanted to let you know that next week I will be announcing the information for the third round of Scout’s Indie Sock Club. I will be having the lottery within the next few weeks and the first shipment will be mailed out the last week in April. This club has a whole new twist to it and I think you will really like it. Stay tuned for that.

There are a number of updated things in the shop. I have all sizes of Martini Sock Blockers back in stock and all of the adorable felted flower kits. Today or Monday I should have back in all colors of Haiku Bags in including the Grab Bags. I got in another order of GoKnit Pouches too so they are all stocked in all colors and sizes. I’ve been hard at work getting everything back in stock so really anything you want should be there.

Have a great weekend everyone. It’s looking like we will finally have some warm weather and I am so ready for it!

Happy Friday!

I’m a busy girl but I’m still getting my daily pictures in. I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day if you celebrate it. I bring you two belated V-Day shots but not belated Eye Candy Friday shots.

I’ve also just reordered every single thing I’m low in over at the shop and will let you know when everything is all in. I expect it should all be here within a week.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Eye Candy Friday

I’m taking Eye Candy Friday literally today. :)

I was so fortunate to finally meet Jenny Esperanza the other day. If you have not seen her work you need to sit down and take the time to go through her stream. When I first joined Flickr, Jenny was one of the first people I *found* who just left me so inspired and excited about photography. One of my very first shots I fav’d on Flickr was this shot of hers. I remember it so clearly. So it was extra special for me to meet someone who had and still has such an impact on my photography.

Not only is she immensely talented but she is such an amazing woman and mother. I can’t wait for us to be able to hang out again without being so rushed. We didn’t take many shots but I asked permission to take this one because it ranks up there as one of the coolest tattoos I’ve seen. It is based off of “Tears” (Larmes) by Man Ray.

Make sure and check out her website too. It’s just fantastic. Also, if you live locally, she has a huge 8-page spread in the February issue of the New Mexico Magazine.

Happy Friday my friends!
