Eye Candy Friday

more than just little chocolate eggs

I don’t eat chocolate. If you know anything about me, you know this. I just don’t really have a sweet tooth. It’s pretty out of the ordinary for me to crave chocolate. But every year, at this time of year, I buy these Cadbury Mini Eggs because they were my mother’s favorites. Ohhhhh did she love them. It’s hard to believe that in one month it will be the 15th anniversary of her death. I buy them and eat them for her.

I wanted to let you know that next week I will be announcing the information for the third round of Scout’s Indie Sock Club. I will be having the lottery within the next few weeks and the first shipment will be mailed out the last week in April. This club has a whole new twist to it and I think you will really like it. Stay tuned for that.

There are a number of updated things in the shop. I have all sizes of Martini Sock Blockers back in stock and all of the adorable felted flower kits. Today or Monday I should have back in all colors of Haiku Bags in including the Grab Bags. I got in another order of GoKnit Pouches too so they are all stocked in all colors and sizes. I’ve been hard at work getting everything back in stock so really anything you want should be there.

Have a great weekend everyone. It’s looking like we will finally have some warm weather and I am so ready for it!

My mother does not eat candy except for those same eggs. She sits down with a bag and it is gone! I do unfortunately eat candy and I too love those!

Beautiful shot, Scout. I love those eggs too.

It seems she was every bit as fun and beautful as you. I think she’d be proud to see the amazing woman you are today.

Great photo, and beautiful memory. Your mom sounds like an amazing woman - much like her daughter. Good weekend to you!

What a beautiful picture of a memory-evoking candy. I can’t even begin to fathom how much you miss your mom. I hope you and the kidlets enjoy a wonderful weekend.

I bought some of these today because these are MY favorite candy, I wait every year for them to come out - a little heaven in a hard candy shell:)

If you’re going to eat chocolate, those eggs are a good way to go. I love them too and I hadn’t realized that they’re back in season, so to speak. Thanks for the update!

Mini-eggs are evil. I’m so glad they only come out but once a year (although I’m in denial that I saw red and green mini-eggs at Christmas). They are the perfect blend of chocolate and crunchy that lead me to eat one of those massive bags all to myself. Evil I tell you.

Memories like that are what keep our loved ones with us always.

Me, I’m another who loves mini-eggs…such a nice creamy taste to them. Good thing that I’m in my jammies, otherwise I’d have to go get me some.

I buy the marshmallow peeps for the same reason, even though I hate them. My grandmother always bought them for us every Easter.

good vibes being sent your way… I feel the same way about Necco wafers.. my Mom loved them so every so often when in New England, I get a pack in her memory…oddly enough, right around next week marks the 12th anniversary of my losing her.

I can’t wait to hear about the sock club…I’m hoping I get in this time!

Those chocolate eggs are my favorite, but even if I didn’t have a sweet tooth, your reason for eating them touches my heart.

Love your photos. They are therapy for me. What kind of camera do you use?
