Do you see the new digs? How awesome is this new blog!?!? We are still working on a few things so know everything will work within the next day or two. But I love it sooooooo much. And how she made a font with my own handwriting? Um hello coolness! Cynthia & Norm ROCK!!!
I had an amazing day today. So I found out today that this rally was going on. By the time I called to get tickets they were all gone. I wrote about it on Ravelry and a number of people said I should just go down there and try and get in. I knew at least I would get some good pictures. On the way down there Pippi/Symeon told me to just tell them I was an independent journalist which I guess I kind of am right? I mean, I have a blog/flickr/etc….. I figured the worst thing that would happen is that they’d tell me no.
When I got there I stumbled into the VIP entrance and figured I would just go for it. I told them I was there as a journalist. They asked me for whom and I basically explained I was a local photographerand had a blog. I told her I really really wanted to be able to get in there. I waited about 5 minutes and guess what? She let me in. With a press pass.
My heart pounded the whole time I was there. It was a total adrenaline rush. I stood on the same stage as the news crews. It was seriously cool. I still can’t believe they let me in. A few people took my cards to possibly use some of my shots too. That would be pretty cool. And thank goodness for the D300 live view. We were getting yelled at by security to get off the chairs so I took a bunch of these shots by holding my camera up and looking through live view.
So yeah. Pretty cool day. See the other shots here.

F***ing AMAZING!!!
Very, very cool. And I would so love to see Michelle Obama as First Lady. After all, who do you think would make the better role model for girls? The reptillian Stepford wife or the genuine working woman?
Love the new design, too.
The site looks awesome.. and how exciting to get into the event & get photos too! I hope we see a LOT more of Michelle Obama in the future.
I saw the new design, and was like, “that font looks so familiar…” And ding! It is your handwriting exactly! How creepy/cool is that? I want my handwriting made into a font!

new blog is amazing! I love how crisp and clean. I tried watching some Republicans last night, b/c you know, I want to have informed discussions so I can convert some votes, if possible. But I got nauseous, so I had to stop. What an exciting day for you!
The site looks awesome! I love what she did with it. The font that is your handwriting is too cool!
I would suggest making the font a bit smaller on your blog, its like double the size it used to be and feels out of place.
Congrats on getting in to see Mrs. Michelle speak! I’m super jealous, you know. Teachers for Obama!

Hi,
I just wanted to tell you that you that we are Canadian and e we are watching the election news daily here and almost every time we hear Obama speak my husband and I look at each other and we both have tears streaming down our faces. He gives us all hope because what happens in the U.S. has great implications on the rest of the world. Americans are our friends and family - it has been excruciating to witness these past 8 years. I believe that Americans will vote in this election like they’ve never done before and that we will enter into a new age of hope. Best wishes - Michelle
The new blog looks fantastic! I’m actually really surprised that it was that easy to get into the rally with so little information, but I’m happy that you did! I bet it was lots of fun.
Very cool. ;o) Love the new look!
