Yesterday ranked as one of the most amazing days of my life. I got within three feet of Barack Obama. See this girl in the green shirt?

She’s standing in what they call the buffer. It’s the area for the press in between the public and the stage. I got to be in that spot for about 10 minutes yesterday in Española, NM and got within 3 feet of Barack while he spoke. Look.

I got in as press again, and now have 430 shots to go through. It was truly amazing to be this close to him. The speech was beyond inspiring. I hope to get to some more pictures later today and will get them up in this flickr set. The whole day was just fantastic. One of those days I will never, ever, forget.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Very cool!
You are so lucky! I’m so jealous. Barack Obama is so amazing to listen to. I’m currently listening to “The Audacity of Hope” at work, and I always feel so inspired! Great shots, I can’t wait to see more!
Amazing shots! My 4 and 6 year old are even excited over Obama. And you are definitely “press” caliber. Congrats!
What an awesome anniversary present.
I’m glad you got to go; it looks amazing.
That’s fantastic!
Lucky you!!!
That must have been amazing!!
My friend got a job (she leaves Sunday) to work on the Obama Campaign! She goes to Denver for training, then will get sent to a swing state and if he wins, she goes to Washington.
It must have been amazing! I have never been so inspired by a presidential candidate. Normally I’m cynical and pissed off about the whole thing, but for the first time in my life, I actually think that an election will change the course of this country.
that is beyond awesome. and your photos are so, so vibrant! beautiful work!
Totally impressive shots! Your photographic skills are just amazing. What an exciting day!
Now THAT is some good eye candy! Lucky you!

Great photos! Please don’t forget to remind everyone to vote for him!!!
Have a great weekend.
Wow!!!!!!! To be so close. And what a picture. It’s wonderful! Is it just me, or is he showing more silver? Maybe he already had it but is letting it show so he looks older, for those people who think he’s too young.
Wow, you got so close. Great photos!
Oh my gosh Scout! How incredibly amazing! You go girl! Or should I say VIP Reporter:)
Wow! Just wow!
Cool shots. So how do you get in as press? (Loved the shot of you on flickr with the crazy huge lens, it gave me lens envy)!
How exciting! Three feet away from the next President of the United States!!!!!
Wow those are some awesome picts!!!! Very exciting!
That is just TOO FREAKING AWESOME for words! I thought of you when they mentioned that he was swinging by NM, and wondered if you’d be off to see him. I guess you were! SO LUCKY! And as usual, the photos are fantastic!
You took some amazing shots. He actually looks a little older then he does on t.v.
Yay! Good for you!
Well, you have got it goin’ ON, girl. What a thrill and a privilege to be in that position, literally and figuratively. I am mighty pleased to see the reaction to your shots and have more and more hope that those of us who have had enough of what has gone on for the last 8 years can rise up and have our say. As I said in my blog, it is up to those people who have never voted or who have been complacent to change things. Yes people, the man DOES have a few gray hairs and will have a lot MORE after taking on this job for awhile. I want a SMART president!!!
Holy Crap is right! How incredibly cool is THAT. And the close up of him, amazing. Going to your flickr right now.
Wonderful!! I just started volunteering for Obama’s campaign today. How exciting to get that close.
What a momentous experience. When he came to Boise I was within eight feet of the man. I was blown away by his gentle yet powerful spirit. Your shots are awesome!
Nice! Great pics!!!
That head and shoulders shot with the sky as background is stunning! Someone needs to pay you for that one and use it in a very high profile way.
You are so so lucky. Wow. What an AMAZING experience!
