It’s like pulling a Band-Aid off right? + a Contest!!

You know, when you haven’t posted on your blog in forever and you finally just have to do it really fast so it won’t hurt too much? Yeah, sorry about that.  I’ve been so busy that even my neighbors who are very good friends of ours told me she was happy to see me the other day because she hadn’t seen me in so long. And they live across the street! Things are great. Just unbelievably busy. It’s ll good stuff though. I’ve been doing a lot of photography shoots and am really loving that. Here’s one of my favs from a recent shoot of the twins who are now 9 months old.

It just takes a lot of time to shoot/process/etc. I have three pretty big jobs over the past few weeks and have even more stuff coming up on the horizon. Super seekrit stuff that I can’t talk about though. But at some point you will all be able to see what it’s all about. And look! I got a makeover!

Isn’t it super fabulous? What else has been going on? I’ve been busy stocking the shop. The new Namaste Zuma is the cutest bag I’ve seen a long time. I’ve already restocked them once.  See the post below for links. Everything else is stocked in the shop too. With less than a month until Christmas and Hanukkah I won’t have much time to restock again so get things while I have them!

Knitting? What’s that? I can’t believe that even with the cooler weather I haven’t been knitting. I guess I’m just so tired after working 12+ hours every day I just want to veg out and watch stupid TV. However, I always like to see what everyone is working on or if there are some super cool new patterns out there I have yet to see.  It seems like I do this contest yearly to see if something will call out to me and inspire me to break out my needles.  So let’s have a little contest!! Please spread the word too. Show me what you are knitting. I want links to pictures and/or patterns. Or, you can just leave links showing me a cool pattern you want to knit. I will keep this up until December 4th and will pick two people to win these brand new fabulous books with the random number generator.

and

So inspire me and win a book. It’s that easy. It’s always fun to get a whole bunch of ideas in one spot so make sure and tell people to come play.

I hope that you and yours had a great Thanksgiving (if you celebrate it). I’m all confused as to what day it is. I just realized it’s only Saturday morning. So have a good weekend too! I can’t wait to see what everyone has up their sleeves.

ETA - Bloglines is out of control and it stresses me out to not be able to catch up with everyone. I’m clicking refresh. Please let me know if there’s something I’ve missed that you’ve written about. (whether you think you’re on my Bloglines or not!!) I love to hear how everyone is so tell me about you too. m’kay?

I queued the Coin Lace Scarf pattern from Elann.com today. It’s here: http://elann.com/ShowFreePattern.asp?Id=314024

I’m actually knitting another Elann pattern, the Crest of the Wave top, for myself, but the only pictures I could take are really horrible, so I shan’t inflict them on you!

If you considered crochet, there’s this Marquise top by Julia Vaconsin which was published in Yarn Forward in Spring 2008, which was my first ever top for myself.

All of these are on Ravelry, of course.

My blog shows my current projects, too — or at least ones that are done enough to look vaguely recognizable in a picture. :) The one that’s not on there yet is the Drivers Gloves from Robin Melanson’s book “Knitting New Mittens & Gloves.” Great pattern and really a quick knit. It’s just that I got interrupted and need to get back to them! :)

I love the new sweater in the Winter issue of EasyKnitting magazine - it has a row of leaves running down the left side of the sweater. Very chic!
Right now I am into hats , neckwarmers and gloves! Quick , easy, simple and can use right off the needles.
Check out my blog and see all the recent winter gear I have knitted up.
Click on the photo and enter my Flickr account.
    Have fun!

Right now, I’m putting the finishing touches on some fiddlehead mittens for me (bad cameraphone WIP photo). LOVE THEM. These are my first mittens ever and now I feel a need to knit a million other mittens - thinking about the anemoi mittens and definitely EZ’s mitered mittens.

Those are going to take a backseat for a bit, while I knit a pair of simple socks for my sister and a pair of Dashing for my husband for Christmas.

and here is a detail: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8234840@N07/3061128269/

The stitch pattern came from Ysolda:

I’m using Malabrigo laceweight in Pearl Ten. I’m in love with this color and pattern. The question is, can I have this done in time for Christmas?

Thanks to Ravelry there’s a huge list on my blog of the stuff I’m currently knitting on. Call me crazy! It’s Winter over here (finally, and nobody knows how long it’ll last us) so my crave is for hats and scarfs and thick sweaters. So I keep casting on!

Plus I’m knitting socks for my family for Christmas! :D

I don’t have any photos of my in-progress knitting, so heres at least one link.
First, the Mockery Socks - http://live2knit.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=document_general_info&products_id=175
Second, the Halloween Mystery Stole (running a bit behind, obviously) from Goddess Knits - Ravelry link to http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/halloween-mystery-shawl-08
Third, Chevron Scarf from the Last-Minute Knitted Gifts book - Ravelry link to http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/chevron-scarf
It’s fun to see what everyone else is working on, although I think it might cause me to start even more stuff!

What wonderful timing! I am just starting to get my knitting mojo back after a several month hiatus and just this week started and finished a pair of fingerless gloves for my mother. I’m also working on a pair of socks for her using the Coriolis architecture from Cat Bordhi’s New Pathways for Sock Knitters: Book One, and a cabled sweater for my dad (but he doesn’t know it’s for him!) for Christmas. I’ll be posting pictures of the gloves and sock-in-progress to my blog later this afternoon, and there are some past posts with pictures of the sweater. I also have Ysolda’s little mousie pattern and plan to knit him up with some handspun as a quick little project in the next couple weeks.

I’m in the middle of designing socks, so I can’t show you those - but I can say that I want to knit the Feb Lady Sweater as soon as all my deadline knitting is done. (EZ’s february baby sweater but adult version!)

The envelope I sent you got sent back to me not sure why, so I’m taking it back to the post office to re-send since I already paid postage!

I’m not knitting anything. I suck. I take that back. I’m working on a hat for a friend and a Chevron scarf for me, but they both have been on the needles for months. I’ve lost my knitting mojo.

In other news, I am now the mom of a 10 year old. :) Which means that SuperBoy will turn 10 soon too. Eeep, where did our babes go?

I, too, have twins! 2 boys age 4 1/2. I recently finished Updated Old Classic from Custom Knits. You can see it on my blog, http://wippich.com/bellarosa/. Currently working on Tang from the book. It’s a gift for my sister.
Needless to say, it’s tough doing stuff other than taking care of the twins at 9 months old so I commend you. I remember those days although I was always tired!

Well, right now, just before I commented, I was working on a cabled hat for my Uncle for Christmas. I also have the Lenore socks in my sock bag and a Zetor scarf in my Namaste bag. I also just finished a Trellis and Pear scarf (BW Treasury No. 2) and a Kearsarge sweater (from A Fine Fleece). I’m thinking of casting on either Camelot mitts (from Knotions.com) or Saltkrakan socks(http://www.ullaneule.net/0308/ohjeet_saltkrakan.html) as soon I figure out how to read Finnish. :)

Then there’s a couple of Charlotte’s Webs with 3 out 5 colors chosen, a Manos Silk Blend neck warmer using the lazy daisy stitch (http://www.flickr.com/photos/7946064@N05/3016487312/), and a couple of things that just need finishing up: Baby Surprise Jacket (http://www.flickr.com/photos/7946064@N05/3056682481/) and Twist & Shout (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall08/PATTtwistandshout.html)

I have been on a hat making frenzy…for me and for gifts.
I have to take photos but there are a couple of me on ravelry in the star crossed slouchy beret which I loved knitting and really like wearing.
I also knit, which Barry has taken off with, keeps his bald head just warm enough. I reknit B’s hemp hat as well but it’s just a regular old beanie.
I then made Robins egg blue hat, which was a fun project and I put an antique pansy pin on it as a closure. Right now I am knitting my 5 year old daughter a pink hat with purple stripes. Hats have been my thing this fall :-)

I’m knitting Monkeys with my October Scout’s Swag. I LOVE how it’s coming out. I’ve been meaning to email you and show you a photo collage I did with the yarn skein/yarn ball/WIP/and a Bird of Paradise. The day my yarn came I had been taking photos in my yard. It just so happened that when I downloaded my photos…the one just before my October yarn was of a BoP in my yard. The colors are exactly the yarn. I was so excited. I’m loving this WIP even though I haven’t had much time to knit. My blog is sadly neglected too. I’m working nights and weekends to make up for the hard blow the economy has thrown us. It’s all good though. I still get to spend my days with my super great kids. I’ll post the photo to my blog SOON…just not tonight…I’m heading out to work and I’m there until 11pm.

I just knit two Turn a Square Hats by Jared Flood. The first one was too big. The second one is blocking so it’ll hopefully fully cover his ears. Otherwise I’m just stash busting, choosing balls that strike my fancy and knitting cowls. A ball of Noro Shinano met that fate last night (no pics yet, involves 5.5mm needles, 72 stitches some seedstitch and stockinette) and I’m trying to finish a heavily mod’d pair of little gem mitts– I want mittens with peekaboo finger exits so I can crackberry and pay at the farmer’s market and stuff.. It’s all about stash busting so I have room to store more fibre.

I’ve been working on small/simple projects.
Which have been 2 palindrome cabled scarves:
    http://www.cometosilver.com/patterns/palindrome.htm

For my two friends (which happen to be a couple) that moved to the east coast just a few months ago. I miss them and one is in New York and the other is in West Virginia. So I’ve made them each their own scarves, same pattern but different colors. So that they can have matching items when they are so far apart. (Acrylic yarn so that they can throw them in the wash when needed, I doubt either of them will have the time to hand wash their scarves.

    Adrianne’s is in Burgundy

Plus an improvised crocheted pouch for my mother’s new cellphone headset, for the car. This is the first cell phone she has loved and so I want to encourage her to use it and make it as easy for her to use it in the car safely.

I have one sleeve done so far and it looks like a crumpled mess of heck, since it’s lace, but I have high hopes. No photos of my own yet, but here’s a link to the inspiration: http://www.celebritywonder.com/wp/Drew_Barrymore_in_Music_and_Lyrics_Wallpaper_4_1280.jpg

    Hi There Scout:)

Glad to hear from you and love your makeover girl! This weekend I was busy working on my mom’s christmas gifts.
    1 of these: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sideways-grande-cloche
and a pair of these that I bound off last night: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Marisol/chevalier

I also recently completed this awesome hat for myself that I am wearing as I work on my gifts this year:

I’m doing quite a bit of erm, slightly last-minute christmas knitting. Right now I’ve got Branching Out on the needles. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Zemestani/branching-out

And I’ve gotten it into my head that the two new babies in my life need some cute little knitted toys. So I plan on making a couple of Elefantes[http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/elefante] and probably a couple Fuzzy Mitten Lambs. [http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fuzzy-mitten-lamb]

I don’t have pictures up yet, but I just finished a little felted bag [http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Zemestani/little-felted-bag] and a Knitted Bunny [http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Zemestani/knitted-bunny].

Oh, and the twins? Adorable. I love how striking their eyes are in the photograph.

I really like her toy patterns. They are easy to read and so cute.

I’m taking a brief sock break using some Black Friday yarn that I scored for $3.49/skein. I should be working on the sleeves for Tyler’s Christmas cardigan and potholders for Grandma. Oh! And I’m working on an Odessa for a beaded class sample. I’m using Cashsoft DK in “Poison” with some iridescent beads. (Colorway: http://www.yarnmarket.com/generate/big_photo.cfm?image_link=/images/CDK-513.jpg&width=442&height=551&my_title=Cashsoft DK Yarn 513 Poison)

    Potholders: http://myboringblog.wordpress.com/2008/01/23/crochet-potholder-pattern

And I’m contemplating something for myself with this yummy yarn I bought from Exclusivelylindalee.etsy.com.

I am currently working on a toddler sweater (daisy cardigan) in a lovely pink alpaca from baywood yarns as well as some marvelous mitts (fair isle) using some art yarns. The fair isle fingerless gloves would be a perfect project to use up some ever growing sock yarn stash.

I am currently working on a shawl for myself and for one of my grandmother’s for Christmas. The shawl for myself is the Loop Shawl from Sensual Knits (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/LittleWit/loop-shawl). The yarn is gorgeous and I think I like how it’s turning out. :) The shawl for my grandmother is the Lace Poncho from IK Fall 2005 (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/LittleWit/lace-poncho). I really really like some of the mods I saw for it on Ravelry and I plan to make one for myself once I finish hers. Grandma’s is being knit in a variegated yarn which is showing up surprisingly well in the lace. Both of these are knitting in worsted weight yarns so they are knitting up quickly. :) I am also madly in love with Adrian Bizilla’s Cable Twist socks. I recently knit 3 pairs of them (2 as Chritmas gifts) and will probably make more in the future. They knit up quick and are super cozy! (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cable-twist-socks)

One is my “hvivelstrøm” cardigan (picture here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Lykkefanten/hvirvelstrm) and the other is Cymatics scarf (my own design) (picture here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Lykkefanten/cymatics)

I have made hats for everyone in my family for Christmas. That has been a fun process and has really helped me become a faster knitter. I’d like to push myself to take my knitting to the next level so this winter I am planning on making the February Lady Sweater, and the Bobbled Tam in the Vogue Knitting Holiday issue. I have yarn - now I just need some uninterrupted time to practice the stitches - and then start the pattern! Here is my ravelry link if you’d like to see my basic hats! :)

I had planned on knitting the kids socks or slippers from the IK holiday issue, but Hanne really wanted a poncho. So, I improvised for her. Then Alex decided that he really needed the diamonds in relief sweater from the same magazine. So, MUCH larger projects than I had anticipated, but it’s what they want, so hopefully they will get a lot of wear. Thank goodness they are still relatively little.

I’m currently loving two projects. Veronik Avery’s Peace and Love Gloves, from Color Style ( http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/peace-and-love-gloves-by-veronik-avery ) is my have-to-think-about-it project. They are warm, and the 4-row chart makes the knitting zoom. I’d never used Whiskey before, and really love it. The yarn is full of color, with strands of many hues making each color. In fact, two of my coworkers were compelled to start sweaters in it after watching me knit the gloves.

For something to knit during movies, I jumped right on the old bandwagon, and started a Noro Striped scarf ( http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/04/noro-scarf.html ) , with Plymouth Boku.
