Welcome to 2009!

Wow….is it just me or did 2008 go by super fast? It’s kind of scary when they go by so quickly. Here’s a question for you. Can you all answer? Do you make resolutions? Tell me about it if you do. Do you have other traditions at the beginning of the new year? Have you ever kept any of them? I don’t make resolutions. I think I just continuously have things I’m working on and improving. I think resolutions are too easy to break. I just have never really done it! But tell me about you!

Here’s my last sunset shot from 2008. I was doing a shoot out by my house with a friend for something super top seekrit that you will be able to see in a few months. I’m very excited about it. All I can say is that it has to do with knitting.  Look at this sunset though. Isn’t it gorgeous?

In other news I was able to get a few more Eggplant Zumas that should ship within the next few weeks. I just looked and there are 4 left. That’s with adding another 10 onto the 50 I already sold! I am so excited for them to arrive I just can’t wait.

On Monday I should also receive a huge shipment to restock all of the other Namaste stuff. I know I am sold out of all Buddy Cases but more will be here on Monday as well as all of the other bags. You guys wiped me out!

I wanted to also take this time to wish you each a Happy New Year. May 2009 be filled with lots and lots of love, peace and joy for each one of you!  I thank you all for your continued support too.

*Calendars should be coming soon!*

Some years I make resolutions, and some years I don’t.
This year I did make a resolution, and I really need to stick with it; I need to budget myself better, and really make sure I don’t spend money on things that I don’t need. I’m really bad about impulse spending sometimes, and if I didn’t do it, my finances would be in much better shape!

    Nope, no resolutions either!

Gorgeous shot! I love the green in the sunset - too cool.

Last year I resolved not to buy any yarn from January 1-August 1. I did pretty well, only buying one skein (when I found out I was accepted to grad school). This year, my resolution is to not buy anything non-essential (which includes pretty much everything but food and fuel) from January 1-31, and put the money I save toward my credit card balance. I’ve found that she more specific and time-limited my resolutions are, the better I am at following them.

I make goals, although this year’s haven’t been solidified yet. I think they will involve spending more time with friends, exercising, and getting to work earlier…

The sunset is absolutely gorgeous. It’s like 2008 wants us to remember it in a good light (no pun intended).

I didn’t do resolutions this year, per se. But I did make some goals. Mostly to get around to the stuff I didn’t have time for in 2008. I also chopped all my hair off. There are pics on my blog.

I make a couple of goals but no resolutions. Usually, I just work on stuff continually…it is best mentally for me if I tell myself that I have to work on it continually.

    Your Sunset shot is wonderful.

I have no resolutions this year. But I did sign up for Nakniswemodo - which feels like a resolution.

I don’t tend to make New Year’s resolutions but I do try to find ways to adjust my life to make things a little better. So if one those ideas strikes me when it’s not New Year’s then I just implement it then. This year my resolutions to adjust something have really coincided with the new year so it is kind of nice to start it anew with a clean slate (calendar) and just pretend the new habits are how it’s always been :)

I don’t make resolutions, for many of the same reasons. They put too much pressure on me, and then I blow them off. What I’ve done for this year is to restate something I’ve been trying to live by: I want to smile more and frown less. Really, the rest of my life is so much better if I can just do that one simple thing.

Yup - I have 2 resolutions this year.

1 - Stay focused on the most important things. Period.
2 - Stay focused with the Finish or Frog It KAL I just started. It’s my way of staying focused on my knitting. I have way too many UFOs and WIPs that are getting out of control - many of which I don’t even like but I can’t seem to frog. I think this will be a very freeing resolution for this year.

    Happy New Year!

I never make resolutions because I’ve seen too many people make them and then break them!

I’m not a big one for resolutions, but I do think of the new year the way I used to think of September and the start of a new school year. It’s a great time for starting with a clean slate and implementing some changes.

We do have a New Year’s tradtion, every year a group of friends gathers for a walk around the ponds in town and stops in for pints at some of our local pubs. It’s a great way to clear the cobwebs and catch up with everyone.

I set goals for the year, but I do that over the course of the first week or so of January so I can really figure out what I hope to accomplish.

When I lived in NY, my NYD tradition was to go on a hike to a big rock that overlooked the Hudson with a bunch of people, some of whom I only saw on NYD. We all brought leftover yummies from NYE and had a big picnic with champagne to toast the New Year. I miss it.

Resolutions just get broken. I do have some ideas, but those have been around for a long time. I think they’re going to wait until I retire (this year I hope). I wonder if I’ll do them then?

Love that sunset - a rainbow!

I’m not a resolution type of person, but I do plan on doing a few things so the new year is a good time to get started. I want to reach out more to those I care about. I tend to hybernate and not be very social, I need to check in more with people I want in my life.
I plan to do some sort of movement everyday…it may be as simple as a quick walk with the dog or I may work up to getting to the gym (that whole not social thing). Yesterday it was dancing in the living room with my kids and today was power cleaning so I’m off to a good start.
The sunset was an amazing photograph, I hope you have a blessed 2009.

I loosely make resolutions. I am a horrible procrastinator, and so I never end up keeping the resolutions, but at least I have in my mind a list of things that I want to accomplish over the year. As for traditions, my family always has pork roast and black eyed peas on New Year’s day. My mom, though not normally a superstitious person, will not let any of us out her sight until we eat at least one black eyed pea - for good luck.

I’ve given up on resolutions. I got to say that I love the color of the sunset, it’s so bold!

My resolution every year is to not make any resolutions =) Like you said, they are easy to break.

Happy new year to you and wish you all the best!!

I normally don’t do resolutions, since once you miss once, then you feel like a failure. What I am doing this year though is making more time for me - spending time outside of work and focusing on myself vs corporate drone that I am at times. lol.

I don’t really do resolutions. Not for any reasons, just never did them. In the same way, we don’t really have any traditions for the new year. I am looking forward to this one, and hope it doesn’t fly by before I can enjoy it! Happy new year to you and your family!

I see resolutions as a set up for failure. I do try to make goals though - small ones - and then move on to the next goals once those are accomplished.

I love the picture of the sunset and over the past year have gotten addicted to the calendar wallpaper. Will you be putting one up soon for January? Happy New Year everyone!

I have a few questions regarding the Zuma bags.
Are they a shoulder bag and can you put it on your shoulder with one hand?
