eye candy?

Happy Friday and weekend my friends!

Happy Bokeh Wednesday!

My boarding pass is printed and I leave in less than 24 hours! See y’all soon!

look who had breakfast with me today!

Jess & Casey are here for the Taos Wool Festival so Mary-Heather brought them over with her adorable puppy Charlie for breakfast and the mass ascension. It was so great to finally meet them after knowing them for so long.

Do you know how hard it is to explain to someone exactly who they are and what they have done? I was reminding T. who they were and was basically just like, “They are the geniuses!” Doesn’t that sum it up kinda?

I was unable to make it up to Taos today. However, it ended up being a good thing since I got to be here for the kids’ soccer games. And let me tell you. Today was the best I’ve ever seen the boy play. He totally kicked major boo-tay and had 2 assists and 1 goal. I was so proud of him. I wouldn’t have missed that for the world.

And hey, TWO WEEKS TO RHINEBECK! I know I did this a while back but tell me again if you are going to be there! I can’t wait to meet everyone.

Just Under the Wire! Eye Candy Friday

It’s that time of year again! Balloon Fiesta started today.  The coolest thing? Tomorrow I get to meet Jess & Casey who are here for the Taos Wool Festival! They are coming over with Mary-Heather & Jacob to watch the balloons take off. We have such a great view you don’t even have to go down to the field to see them all. I bribed them with burritos too.

This shot was from this morning at the kids’ school. It was Albuquerque Aloft today to kick off the Fiesta. Balloons took off from 32 school all around the city. This Balloon is called The Present. I have a bunch more shots in my flickr set if you want to see more. We now have two straight weeks of this so there will be lots of shots!

Have a great weekend everyone!

wow

Do you see the new digs? How awesome is this new blog!?!?  We are still working on a few things so know everything will work within the next day or two. But I love it sooooooo much.  And how she made a font with my own handwriting? Um hello coolness! Cynthia & Norm ROCK!!!

I had an amazing day today. So I found out today that this rally was going on. By the time I called to get tickets they were all gone. I wrote about it on Ravelry and a number of people said I should just go down there and try and get in. I knew at least I would get some good pictures.  On the way down there Pippi/Symeon told me to just tell them I was an independent journalist which I guess I kind of am right? I mean, I have a blog/flickr/etc….. I figured the worst thing that would happen is that they’d tell me no.

When I got there I stumbled into the VIP entrance and figured I would just go for it. I told them I was there as a journalist. They asked me for whom and I basically explained I was a local photographerand had a blog.  I told her I really really wanted to be able to get in there. I waited about 5 minutes and guess what? She let me in. With a press pass.

My heart pounded the whole time I was there. It was a total adrenaline rush. I stood on the same stage as the news crews. It was seriously cool. I still can’t believe they let me in. A few people took my cards to possibly use some of my shots too. That would be pretty cool. And thank goodness for the D300 live view. We were getting yelled at by security to get off the chairs so I took a bunch of these shots by holding my camera up and looking through live view.

So yeah. Pretty cool day. See the other shots here.

Happy Friday!

I’m a busy girl but I’m still getting my daily pictures in. I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day if you celebrate it. I bring you two belated V-Day shots but not belated Eye Candy Friday shots.

I’ve also just reordered every single thing I’m low in over at the shop and will let you know when everything is all in. I expect it should all be here within a week.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning

Have a great day.

Eye Candy Friday

I’m taking Eye Candy Friday literally today. :)

I was so fortunate to finally meet Jenny Esperanza the other day. If you have not seen her work you need to sit down and take the time to go through her stream. When I first joined Flickr, Jenny was one of the first people I *found* who just left me so inspired and excited about photography. One of my very first shots I fav’d on Flickr was this shot of hers. I remember it so clearly. So it was extra special for me to meet someone who had and still has such an impact on my photography.

Not only is she immensely talented but she is such an amazing woman and mother. I can’t wait for us to be able to hang out again without being so rushed. We didn’t take many shots but I asked permission to take this one because it ranks up there as one of the coolest tattoos I’ve seen. It is based off of “Tears” (Larmes) by Man Ray.

Make sure and check out her website too. It’s just fantastic. Also, if you live locally, she has a huge 8-page spread in the February issue of the New Mexico Magazine.

Happy Friday my friends!

Hey gang. I’ve been kinda sick this week so I’ve been hanging low. I’m on the other side of it but it’s still lingering and let me tell you, I do not do sick well at all. It’s just a cold, nothing major.  Anyway. I’m killing two birds with one stone and bringing you one picture for my Eye Candy and Saturday Sky shot even though it was taken on Friday. I’m sick. Give me a break!! Plus, this one is special because my girl Carole called me from work last night and asked me very nicely to take this for her. Here you go chica.

seis

I was able to give her 6 sunsets in one. Who speaks Spanish? If you do will you click on the picture and tell me if I wrote the title correctly please? See in Vermont they teach you French….not Spanish. I asked a friend over the phone but want to make sure it’s right.

Early next week I should have two new Haiku Bags in the shop. They are pretty cool. There is the Chocolate Bloom (thanks to Courtney for the heads up!) and the Nightshade Blue Bloom.

OKay…..the kids both had their first soccer games today and I’m beat. I’m off to take a nap with Supergirl. Have a great weekend everyone.

My Saturday Sky…..

includes a bike racer in it. Sorry! It’s all I’ve got. That’s my T. taken today at his bike race up near Santa Fe. I can’t remember if I’ve ever mentioned that he races on the blog? Well he does! He placed second today in the Pro, 1, 2, race and the only guy to beat him was this guy, some young Pro from Arizona.

T.

The coolest thing is that T. is able to be in the lead of the New Mexico Road Racing series at age 40 with a full time job, a wife and two kids. I like to say, “Not bad for an old dude huh!?” Most of the guys who beat him are at at least 10 years younger than he is. The kids and I are so damn proud of him and we love going to watch him race. Although, our joke is that if he doesn’t win, we don’t come back to watch him…..

I’ve become friends with Tom, who runs the New Mexico Cycling Website and I’ve promised to take pictures at the races I attend to get shots for the website. My second picture is up on the website right now from a race 2 weeks ago. Pretty cool huh!? I dunno, I think it is! If you want to see the other shots I took today and at the other race I created a separate Flickr account for them. At some point I’ll get the proper zoom lens for action shots and then I’ll really get some great ones.

Hope you are having a great weekend. And this is brought to you by another post that has nothing to do with knitting! Whoo hoo!
