Saturday Sky with Amy Singer!
Let me give you a Saturday Sky picture first. Two years ago we planted three trumpet vines and now they almost completely cover my back wall. They are amazing. They are also just about to bloom. Pretty huh?

Amy Singer’s in the hizzaouse! She arrived on Thursday and taught her Tuscany Shawl class yesterday at Village Wools. Have you seen this shawl? Um. Look.

She did this one in Hand Maiden Silken in the colorway Vintage. Isn’t it beautiful? If you want the pattern you have to get the book - No Sheep For You. Buy it now! She’s good people. We’ve been having such a good time. The only problem is that she’s a very bad influence. She likes to shop. She likes to show me cool stuff. She has cool stuff. Which made me BUY cool stuff. Damn her. Have you ever heard of Zulugrass?

Can you tell which one of us lives in Albuquerque and which one lives in Toronto? Ha! But seriously. I am completely in love. You need to go to the website to read all about it. If you buy Zulugrass you are helping support Maasai women. Plain and simple. My kids stole two of mine yesterday so I promised to let them each pick one out today. I love that they are hand dyed too. Just beautiful.
We are about to head out to the Farmer’s Market before she teaches her class today. Scout’s Swag is well stocked and I just got in a whole new shipment of tape measures and GoKnit Pouches! I hope you have a great weekend everyone because I sure plan on it!
Saturday Sky & a Stocked Shop!
First up, a Saturday sky shot since I missed last week. This is a really cool cactus that has these bright red blooms on the tips of it. I’m the worst person EVER when it comes to identifying plants so I apologize for not knowing the name of it. But hey, it’s purty!
I also got in a huge shipment of GoKnit Pouches. It’s the first time in months that I have every single color and size I carry in the shop. I only have one of a few of them so hurry up and grab what you want if you’ve been waiting. I also got in the sock blockers too. If you see something out of stock it should be back in the store next week. Haiku Bags will finally be back in the shop in 1-2 weeks. I can’t wait!
I hope you are having a great weekend. I have company here so it’s been busy. And oh yeah, Amy Singer comes on Thursday! She will be staying with me until Tuesday so I’ll continue to be busy for another week or so. Nothing new for me right?
New Swag & Saturday Sky
Have you seen all of the new swag I got in from Pick Up Sticks? Oh my goodness. Not only do they have a bunch of new kits, but the colors are so awesome. I put together a little collage of the new colors and swag.
I sold out of all of it when I first got it in a few weeks ago so I had to wait until I got another order of it before I talked about it. Not only are the kits so cute but they have done such a good job with the packaging. If you are looking for some knitty presents for friends or a swap, these really are such great gifts. Hey Miss Violet? Tell them how cute the stuff is! I think the new Sushi Wallet Kit in the Aqua, Sea Blue & Celery is my favorite new item.
For anyone wanting yarn I’m taking orders again. I’m telling everyone the wait time is 2-4 weeks but it looks like I’m getting most orders out right around 2 weeks. Did I tell you what I’m doing tonight? We’re going out with a bunch of friends to go see RENT. I can’t wait! It’s been a really long time since I’ve seen a show. OKay, time to go for a run and package up some orders! I leave you with this.

Also, if you want a good laugh take a look at this picture. Whoops.

My Saturday Sky
I’m slowly feeling better but I think soccer is out of the question for tomorrow. That, my friends, does not make me happy. But seeing as I haven’t had a full meal since Tuesday at Stitch ‘n’ Bitch, it’s probably not a good idea. Did I mention that the boy threw up last night too. Oh fun times! To distract myself, I bring you a beautiful Saturday Sky picture taken tonight.
I need to go crawl into bed again as my back is still killing me.
This & That
First up, Saturday Sky. Taken at 8:00am.
I also have a skein of Prepster for sale. Somehow, a few specks of black/purple got on it and being the perfectionist I am, I didn’t feel comfortable sending it to the person who ordered it. Click the picture to see what I’m talking about. It’s a totally pretty skein of yarn and even though yes, handpainted yarn is never perfect, I know those teeny few spots are there and already re-dyed it for my customer.
And finally, remember that you have until 6:00pm MST tonight to sign up for the Scout’s Indie Club lottery. Read about it here. Then it’s closed for a whole year people! Since I’m doing every other month for 6 months on this one I won’t do another sign up until March/April 2008. Speaking of Indie Swag……I am off to dye this month’s yarn. Did I forget to tell you who the swag is from this month to tease you a bit? Just a little ole pattern from Kate Gilbert. Yep. And it’s incredible. Just wait until you see it. The final month of the first round of the club is going out with a BANG! I plan to get it in the mail by the 23rd or before.
I almost forgot. If you live in New Mexico can you please follow this link and click on the demand button to get Amy R. Singer to come to Village Wools for a book signing. She said it really helps to show her publisher where people want her so I started this up. We’re up to 37 demands already so get those clicks in! Also, I’m so excited my friend Stefanie Japel aka Glampyre Knits, is coming to Village Wools on May 5th for a book signing and trunk show. She’ll be there from 1-3pm so make sure you come down to buy her new book fitted knits and get her to sign it!
