**This may be a repeat for those that get the Newsletter**
With the approach of the holiday season I have been very busy restocking the shop with everything possible plus a bunch of new items. With only a month left until Christmas & Hanukkah I wanted to make sure the shop is completely stocked. I’m so excited to be one of the first to finally get in the newest bag from Namaste, the Cali Zuma Bag! It is such a cool bag. Here are a few images of what it looks like:
I have all of the colors in stock and will get the limited edition Eggplant color by the end of December, early January. I have a current list going of people who would like to pre-order the eggplant color. If you are interested please let me know. Once I see how many people are interested I will get a better idea of how many to order. They have also brought back the Lime color in the Zuma & in the Laguna as well as both sizes of cozies. The other new items from Namaste are the adorable Oh Snap!, the Buddy Case (which will be here in a few weeks and you can pre-order as well) and the Mini Cozy. If anything sells out I can place another order right away to get them back in before Christmas/Hanukkah so just let me know if you would like something.
There are so many other items restocked in the shop I will simply list them here for your:
New Haiku Bags - **NEW HANA COLORS**
Needle Gauge Pendants
Heal My Hands
Pattern Tamers **FOUR NEW COLORS!**
Shawl & Scarf Pins - **NEW PENANNULAR PINS!**
Protect the Swag Sachets
Soak Wash
Tape Measures - **THREE NEW DESIGNS!**
All Patterns & Kits are stocked!
more Knitter’s Rules & Sock Rules will be here within the week with a new Scout’s Swag Logo Sock Rule with martinis too!
Again, if there is anything that sells out, simply email me and we can get you what you need. As always, I thank you for your support. I love new swag!

I absolutely love and adore this hat. It was a super easy knit once I got used to knitting into the bottom row. It really could be whipped up in just a few hours. The best part? No double pointed needles! That John is a freaking genius I tell you. Seriously. I don’t think I will make this colorway available because I didn’t even write down what I did. I kind of like that it’s a one of a kind and it’s all mine. I think it’s only fair for my first ever project with my own yarn. (I started a pair of socks once but only did one so that doesn’t count) I am also out of this chunky yarn right now and need to order more. I’ll put a call into Louet and see how quickly I can get more. Surprisingly it took me exactly one skein to make this hat. John thought I’d need more but I didn’t! So anyway…..LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Here’s some more yarny love without the Scout’s Swag label. That other image was the only yarn one I had from last month. This is actually a colorway alllllll for me. I am making John’s new pattern Bounce with it. For ME! I have only ever knitted with my own yarn one other time. I’m completely in love with the yarn and the pattern. I’m already over halfway done too. Can’t wait to show you the hat.

Let’s start with these cool new Needle Gauge Pendants I got in a few days ago. I’ve wanted them for quite a while and am so excited to finally have some in stock. I already sold out of a few of the colors and new ones are on their way to me right now. I should have them within a few days so just check in if you wanted another color.
The hottest new accessory to have!
This 1-1/2″ x 1-1/4″ light weight gauge is as beautiful as it is accurate.
US goes from 0 - 17.
Use it as a pendant on your favorite chain, as a key ring or bag charm.
It even makes a useful zipper pull on your knitting notions bag.
Show your knitting pride!
The numbers on the gauge are lasered in. There is no paint to ever wear off.
As I mentioned last week, Namaste will have a new bag called the Zuma that is coming out in November. People have asked for the details on this bag and this is what Namaste has to say:
Here she is- the newest little sister in the Cali Collection of handbags. We call her “Zuma” but we hope you call her the answer to your requests for a smaller version of the Cali bags. She’s smaller (17” x 9.5” x 11”) but still packs a punch because, despite her compact appearance, she’s larger inside than you’d expect. The exterior pocket on the front has an accordion-style pocket inside, allowing for individual slots to separate or store whatever tickles your fancy. (please note that these images were taken for the contest on Ravelry and professional shots with more detail will follow!)

I have started to take names for pre-sale orders for this bag. It will also come in all of the other regular colors as well as the seasonal lime color. All Zuma’s except for the new eggplant color should ship out by the end of November. The eggplant color will be coming in a bit later and will ship in December. If you don’t mind the wait, just get on the list. As we get closer to the time for me to order them I will have you purchase your bag! Just email me to get on the list.
Let’s see. How about a few links to things people shared last week? I think these cable needle necklaces are super cool and only wish she would wholesale them so I could carry them! Bev shared a link to this cool Knit Light. This is a totally cute book. I also got a new little gadget a few weeks ago.

Yeah, I got a new iPhone. I was really unhappy with the service I was getting with Verizon and the inability to really check my email on my phone. Now I can actutally work when I’m not at home which is a bonus since I’m running around all day long. This app is called Esteem Aid and it’s hilarious. You shake it and it tells you all kinds of things to make you feel better. The funny part is that it pulls from your contacts so it puts people’s names in randomly which makes it even funnier. And for anyone who has an iPhone and works on a PC with Google Calendar? Dudes, check this out. Coolest feature evah! www.nuevasync.com wirelessly syncs Google Calendar with your iPhone. Yes it’s true my friends. I am a total geek. Things like this make me SO HAPPY!
If you have any good links of cool stuff leave them here! Hopefully I will have enough stuff each week to keep this going.

Thank you to those who left comments over the past few days. I loved checking out all of the cool swag links you left. A few of the things you left are things that are actually already on their way to me! The 3 winners of the Harmony needles are:
Sarah R.
Cindy
Stacey
Congratulations to you three! Please email me your addresses so I can get these to you. Then just do me a favor and spread the word if you like them.
In other news, I’ve been completely swamped this week working on my new photography website. I’ve been doing this photography professionally now for almost a year and just haven’t gotten my rear in gear to get my website up. Cynthia designed my logo a long time ago (which I LOVE!) but then I just got stuck when it came to all of the details of everything else that was needed to get the whole site up. It’s still not 100% but it’s close enough to be able to share with you. If you live locally and know anyone who might want to hire me, I would love for you to share this link. So, check it out.

Finally, I just restocked all of the Namaste Bags and ALL GoKnit Pouches too. I now have the Laguna, Malibu & Newport back in the Peacock color which was sold out. In November I will have the new Zuma bag too. It looks like such a cool bag I can’t wait to get it in! Have you seen it? There was a vote on Ravelry for what the new color should be and they just announced that eggplant is the winner! As we get closer I will probably take pre-orders on this hot little number. I should get them in by the end of November. I am so buying one of these! Hello! It’s purple!

Okay my friends. Have a great weekend. I am just hoping this Excedrin starts to work STAT. I hate waking up with a headache!

Anyone else going? I have wanted to get up there to the festival since we’ve moved here but it’s always in the middle of soccer season. This year I’m going to miss Supergirl’s game so I can get out of town with a few girlfriends to check it out. I have friends who live there so I have a place to stay which makes it nice. I guess October is the Wool Festival month for me this year since I will be going to Rhinebeck a few weeks after Taos. I’ll be all wooled out!
Also, I dyed a few skeins of this new colorway yesterday. I’m calling it “hope.” I am more than happy to dye more too. I am out about 4 weeks on all orders so if you don’t mind the wait, just let me know and I can put it up in the shop for you and get you on the dye queue. You can have any fiber dyed in it. I am stocked with all weights of yarn and have some superwash merino roving too. Just look here to see what I have available.

Some of you may have received an email last night about the new newsletter I’m using with my shop. I can now have people sign up for the newsletter without signing up as a customer in the shop. I was directed to this great service called MailChimp and it’s amazing for newsletters. I also love the little chimp that says funny things every time you sign in. That one above cracked me up. I’m giving everyone the link where you can actually get a $30.00 account credit if you want to try it out. I am such a geek that last night after I sent out my first newsletter I sat and watched all of the statistics as people opened up the email. Yes, I am a geek.
Here is the link to sign up for the newsletter if you aren’t already on the list. I use this to notify customers when I’ve put new swag up in the shop or simply restocked something that was out of stock. If you like to be the first to know about stuff, then make sure you subscribe.
I leave you with this shot from yesterday of these baby hummingbirds I found in a little tree in my front yard. I’ve been hearing them for a few days and finally found their nest yesterday afternoon. I am so sad though. The baby on the left was dead this morning when I went to check on them. We have a call into the Rio Grande Nature Center to see if we should remove the dead one. I just hope the mother is still coming back to feed the other one. My neighbor said he saw two flying around the tree a few minutes ago so I think she is. Any hummingbird experts out there? (and no, we didn’t get close enough to touch them, we were very careful about that)
but it’s crafty! Leslie posted about this fun craft she’s been doing with her kids and I fell in love with the bracelets. After dropping my kids off yesterday at camp, I bought some bandannas and when the kids came home we all made a bunch. Even their friends came over and made some. Here are the ones the kids made.
I had to make sure I knew what I was doing before I showed them so I made myself a few. I totally love them!
In shop news the Namaste Bags are completely stocked as of about 5 minutes ago. They are flying off the shelves and I’ve been working nonstop to keep them stocked. If something sells out you can always pre-order for the next batch so just let me know. I also am one of the very first people to carry KnowKnits newest bag! Check it out. GoKnit Green. If you are like me, you have a bunch of bags you keep in your car for groceries. But this bag works even better! You can carry around this cute little bag in your purse.
When you are ready to use it? You just pull it out of that little pouch and voila!
GoKnit Green carries all purchases: knitting supplies, groceries, travel accessories, etc. Convenient storage, in its own mini case, allows it to be attached to a purse strap or belt loop. When in use your tote can hold up to ten pounds of goodies! The mini case, now becomes and interior pocket to securely store a cell phone, keys, etc., when the cordlock is safely drawn into place. Scout’s Swag is carrying them in 5 colors right now. Depending on how well they do, I might consider carrying all of the colors. Let me know what you think!
Time to get the kiddos off to camp. Next on the list is a total redesign of the blog. It’s about time don’tcha think? I really actually miss posting here and think a redesign will get my heiny over here more. I feel fall coming on and that means one thing…..KNITTING AGAIN!!! Yep. For reals yo. I mean I am going to Rhinebeck and everything. I need to make something for that right? Or get someone to give me something to wear……

(image from the Sheep & Wool website)
Yep. 100% for sure. I just need to buy my plane ticket. But, wanna know why it’s for sure? Because I’m flying into Newark to stay with my dad, then will borrow his car and on my way up to Rhinebeck I’m picking up my girl
Amy Singer! We’re going to drive up and back together and sister already got her tickets so it’s an absolute GO! Can I get a woot woot!?!? We are so Thelma and Louising it minus the cliff jump. We haven’t decided who gets Brad Pitt yet. :D I’m so excited, to finally, after all of these years, meet a whole bunch of you. I can’t even begin to wrap my mind around the number of people I will finally get to meet. I’m sure it will be completely overwhelming. I’m not staying in any of the hotels because some good friends of mine live in
Bloomington. I can handle a 20 minute drive to save on a hotel room. Amy and I were such total dorks this morning getting all excited about it. The plan is that I’ll/we’ll be up there on Friday all the way through Sunday. She has a book signing on Sunday from 1-2 so we will leave a little bit after that. So who do I get to meet??? Huh!?!?!
And lookie lookie. I need a good name for this little chickadee cowl, designed by the super talented Kirsten, because I started it on the flight to Italy and finished it on the flight to San Fran. last month. It’s been all over the world and back. It’s a really fun and easy pattern and just needs one skein of something chunky. I used a skein of #117 Manos del Uruguay. I can’t wait until it’s actually cool enough to wear it. I wish I could share the story about what happened on the plane to Italy with this but I can’t because I gave that woman my card. Let’s just say I had a very nice woman who took my knitting from me to *show me* how she could knit. And let’s just say I had to rip the whole thing out and start over…..yeah just what we love to do right? Riiiiiiiight.
I also have two one skein of this really pretty yarn for sale. SOLD! I have been playing around with some immersion dyeing and these are a result of that. They range from little bits of white all the way to a gorgeously dark crimson. This is also a one of a kind dealio. I don’t think I wrote down what I did. Or maybe I did? Wait, I could do it again I’m pretty sure. Yeah….that’s the ticket.
For anyone looking for the new Namaste Cali bags I have another order that should be here anyday. I’ll try and get here and announce it when then come in. Okay, all this excitement has me exhausted already and it’s only 9:30am. Any travel agents out there? Who’s really good at getting cheap tickets? I am flying from Albuquerque to Newark. I can’t seem to find anything for less than 417 before taxes and that is just so dang steep! Let me know if you are a good flight getter.
Have a good one my friends!
