*** Now we’re up to 1333 1670 just today. Ewwwwwwwwww! Make it STOP!***
In the past 24 hours I’ve gotten over 4,000 hits for having a certain little girl’s name mentioned on my blog back in March. You know the guy they have just arrested in Thailand who has admitted he kill the little blonde girl from Boulder? (No WAY am I mentioning her name again) Yeah. That one. I already deleted it but back in March I said a picture of Supergirl with her pink cowboy hat on reminded me of something you-know-who would wear. It seriously creeps me out that four THOUSAND people have been to my website and must have been extremely disappointed to find knitting content and not…… well I don’t know what. I rarely look at my sitemeter and just happened to yesterday and holy crap was I surprised. I checked out the referring links and they are all from Google looking for images of that girl. When I went back, I saw that the picture I referred to on my post shows up on the second page of Google images for this girl. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve hotlinked and this was one of them. See what happens? Acutally, I didn’t hotlink! I just had a link to that picture. Which is even creepier.
Just, plain, weird.

Sorry it too me so long to post the warping board instructions but I escaped out of town yesterday for a quick little mama-get-away up to Santa Fe with Carole and Mona. We really had fun and you can read all about it on Carole’s blog if you want. My most favorite part of the trip was the cool onyx ring and pink Scala hat I got at the Tesuque Pueblo Flea Market. (Okay, drinking my famous cosmos, hanging out with my girls and eating yummy cheese and bread and knitting wasn’t too bad either!) Stylin’ huh?
Needless to say, we had a fantastic time. Anytime mamas can have 24 hours sans kids? Yeah. Fun stuff.
Let’s get down to the real reason of this post. How can you make a warping board to make beautiful, self-striping yarn like this?

Many of you are not getting one of my feeds so all of the sudden you’ll see 3 posts from me. I’ve been a busy grrl so keep up. Okay? Flarging Bloglines. I just finished making my own warping board, all by myself and I am so damn proud. I even got a layer of varnish on it and everything. I can now dye up to 6 colors if I want. How beautiful is this?
I love her. I’m too tired at this point to write out the instructions. I’ll do it tomorrow I promise. T. is filing down the metal pegs and then I’m going to sit tonight and wind my first skein of sock yarn for myself.
Oh. T. didn’t even flinch when he saw my stash. In fact, he was thrilled that I finally cleaned up the office. Go me!
And finally? I will not EVER be selling my yarns. Seriously. It’s so time consuming I’d kill myself trying to do it for money. So just love me lots and maybe? Just maybe I’ll dye some yarn and send it your way. I just like making pretty things and really like to spoil my friends.
Supergirl that is. She’s sick which means I’m home for the day. She got a really weird headache yesterday with a little bit of a fever which of course was magically taken care of with some Motrin. She didn’t sleep well last night and still doesn’t look so hot. Of course, since she never complains about anything, she wanted to go to school today. Mama knows best and tried to explain to her how her friends at school wouldn’t be too happy with her if she got them sick. So, Supergirl home sick = Scout gets lots of stuff done. So far I’ve gone for a run and completely cleaned and organized all of my knitting supplies and stash. Yes. Stash. I have pictures too. There’s a lot. But, you’ll have to wait for that. I’m going to finally buy something to put it all in and take the chance that maybe T. won’t even notice how much yarn I really have. Once I finish organizing it I’ll let you take a peek.
I was also home yesterday and I was able to get two more skeins dyed. One was actually with my girlfriend Mona. She had so much fun dying some yarn for her son. Here are a few pictures of that. After she left I took my time winding up some more sock yarn for Supergirl and named this one *Scoutlet*. The picture isn’t great. It’s fuchsia, turquoise & gray. She loves it of course.

After I get my stash organized I’m going to make my warping board. I hit Lowe’s yesterday morning and got everything I need to make one twice the size of the one I’ve been using. I want to be able to dye up to 6 colors if I want. The boys were very helpful even if they couldn’t understand why in the world I’d want to make something to make stripey yarn. I even brought a white skein of yarn and my BoyWonder yarn to show them what it does. The boy had a very perplexed look on his face but helped me nonetheless. I can make a warping board twice the size of the $55.00 one for about $25.00. Here is my before picture. I love that the glue is called Gorilla Glue!
One final picture. In the spirit of Project Spectrum I finally did a little collage of a few things in my house that are yellowand orange.
I promise to keep the phone by me while I make the warping board in case I lose any fingers. Just call me MacGyver. I’m so rigging this thing up. Power tools here I come. And I bet you don’t think I can do it do you? Just you wait, you pessimists. Don’t come asking me to make you one once you see how cool it will be. Mona thinks I should sell them……
